I have Citi Private Bank but was never able to get it to work sadly

IOW, if you keep 200,000K in the bank earning .04%, instead of ie 4% ($8000), they’ll give you $200 in subscriptions.
I get mail all the time offering me $600 to open a Chase account, and $775 to open an HSBC account.
Citi is THE worst of all banks, and I’ve had an account there for years. Thinking of closing it.

Justin

Just transfer $200k worth of ETFs from a 401k or IRA to Citi and that counts as the $200k in assets required.

Although Citi does suck. Just entered month #3 of trying to transfer the assets and get upgraded to Gold and I’m very very close but not quite there 🙂

Finally got the targeted email for P2’s account yesterday. Which is strange since its actually P1 accounts that create the CitiGold status, which is shared among household members. We’ll try it on our Amazon Prime renewal in a week…..

worked smoothly. have two accounts entitled to this perk, but its only being offered for one. others are reporting that households with multiple eligible a/c are getting the subscription benefit extended to all of them, so a little disappointing.

Can you please write a comprehensive post about citigold when you get the time? I think it has become interesting like BofA preferred rewards but citi makes it hard to actually understand what is included with all these hidden benefits. They are trying to not get costs maybe. I wouldn’t become just for the benefits that are listed on their website.

Thank you

there is a long running FT thread on CG benefits you can look at. indeed, many benefits are unadvertised or grandfathered at this point

On the renew page, it said visa signature debit card and visa credit cards

Just got off the phone with a Costco CSR. For auto-renew, it’s Visa only. It can be credit or debit, but it must be a Visa. What I did was stop my auto-renew, and I will call in with my Citi debit card two months before renewal.
