Did you end up signing up? If so, did you sign up online or in-branch?

Eric Haven’t made a move on this one yet. Nearest branch is 35 miles away.

Is the offer exclusively in branch ?
Seems there is an open account button. Do we know for sure bonus not applicable if opened that way ?

Direct deposit required and only $150 bonus. Not worth the hassle.

Pass: “Direct Deposit must be the entire amount from a recurring Payroll, Social Security, and/or Pension (minimum of $500 monthly Direct Deposit).”

NJ folks – the branches are basically just miles from the NJ/NY state line, at the northernmost portion of NJ.

I see that Trustco finally smartened up and added anti-churning language to their current offer.

Only one offer of each per eligible customer and household per 12-month period

Eric 🔗 What state are you located in? Do you know if this still needs to be opened in branch? Thank you

The Home Town Investment Checking Account offer only comes out to 4.5% (or less) APY. That is not very attractive in the current market.

The savings offer comes out to about 6% APY. That’s not bad but not good either.

Right, and you have to tie money up for this offer when there are other bank offers available unless you don’t have many offers available to do. Also costs a chex inquiry too.

The past couple of times that I opened an account with them, they didn’t do a Chex inquiry. It’s unclear if I just got lucky or if that is their policy for previous account holders.

In Branch only? Is it possible to open accounts online?
