Eligibility

The Fine Print

The fine print is based on the Arizona Bank & Trust bonus, but is basically the same regardless.

  • $200 bonus offer is not available to existing Arizona Bank & Trust consumer checking customers or those who had accounts open on or before May 31, 2018.
  • Bonuses only apply when opening a new consumer checking account at Arizona Bank & Trust or arizbank.com during the promotional bonus period.
  • The promotional bonus period is 06/01/2018 – 08/31/2018.
  • If the account is closed by the customer or bank within 90 business days after opening, we may deduct bonuses earned and received at closing and a $25 account closing fee may be assessed.
  • Closing the account will negate any unearned bonuses.
  • All bonus dollars will be paid to the newly opened checking account.
  • If multiple checking accounts are opened during the promotional bonus period under the same primary owner name, the bonuses will be paid to the account that was opened first. Limit one bonus per new consumer account relationship.
  • A $30 bonus will be given for enrolling in eStatements within 60 calendar days of account opening and a $170 bonus will be given if one (1) direct deposit of $500 or more post to the account within the first 60 calendar days of account opening. Direct Deposit examples include payroll, pension, Social Security or other government benefits. Bonuses will be paid within 90 business days after account is opened.
  • An IRS 1099 form may be issued.
  • The offer cannot be used in conjunction or combination with any other deposit offer. Health Savings Accounts are not eligible for the promotion.

$700 bonus:

  • $700 bonus offer is not available to existing First Community Bank consumer checking customers or those who had accounts open on or before August 31, 2018.
  • Offer available when opening a new Consumer Checking Account relationship at First Community Bank or FCB-Keokuk.com during the promotional bonus period.
  • A$30 bonus will be given for enrolling in eStatements within 60 calendar days of account opening and a $170 bonus will be given if one (1) direct deposit of $500 or more post to the account within the first 60 calendar days of account opening.
  • Direct Deposit examples include payroll, pension, Social Security or other government benefits.
  • In addition, when opening a consumer Signature Series Checking Account, receive a $300 bonus for having total balance of at least $50,000 at 15 calendar days after account opening and a total balance of at least $50,000 at 60 calendar days after account opening to receive a $200 bonus. Bonuses will be paid within 90 business days after the promotional bonus period has ended. Minimum to open and APY given on consumer checking accounts varies by products selected. The promotional bonus period is 09/05/2018-12/31/2018. If the account is closed by the customer or bank within 90 business days after opening, we may deduct bonuses earned and received and a $25 account closing fee may be assessed. Closing the account will negate any unearned bonuses. All bonus dollars will be paid to the newly opened checking account. If multiple checking accounts are opened during the promotional bonus period under the same primary owner name, the bonuses will be paid to the account that was opened first. Signature Series Bonus will be paid to the Signature Series account. Limit one bonus per new consumer account relationship. HSA and Fiduciary accounts are excluded. An IRS 1099 form maybe issued. Geographic restrictions may apply. Account opening is subject to approval.

Avoiding Fees

They offer a free checking account with no monthly fees to worry about. If the account is closed within 90 days of account opening they will deduct the bonus and a $25 early account termination fee is charged.

Our Verdict

They offered a $500 bonus in 2016, obviously that bonus was much better but $200 still isn’t bad and I’m not sue we will see that bigger $500 bonus again. The positive is that you can open the account online this time rather than having to go in branch (maybe credit card funding is possible now as well?) You should also be able to do this deal even if you’ve done the previous deal as long as you didn’t have an account open on or before October 31st, 2017. That actually looks incorrect as pointed out in the comments. I’ll be adding this to the best bank account bonuses.

Big thanks to reader, Rodney M who let us know. Learn how to find bonuses and contribute to the site here.

Tried to open the account with a downtown Chicago zip code and it said I was outside of the market area and therefore unable to apply.

Is there a link to check for eligibility?

Yes. As with most of these, start the application and you’ll find out on the very first page.

great. my chicago zipcode doesnt work either. bummer, wanted to take advantage of this one..

The print says, “who had accounts open on or before October 31, 2017”. Maybe I’m interpreting this incorrectly, but to me that says if you’ve ever had an account with us. If I had an account in 2016 and closed it, I had an account “open before October 31, 2017”.

I’m reading it the same way. I’ve never had an account with them, but this language is making me think about just waiting for another $500 offer from them, if they enforce lifetime rules.

Talked with a CSR who said that as long as you haven’t had one opened in the last 6 months you should be fine. Had mine closed last July and already got the paperless statement 30 bonus posted. Just got the direct deposit so we’ll see about the remaining 170

did you get the bonus again? I’m thinking of opening one but had one open a year ago. thanks!

Wondering the same.
A follow-up confirmation would be greatly appreciated.

Entered a Chicago zip and it said it was outside of the target area.

Des Moines, IA ZIP code also does not work, seems to be only Eastern IA given the names of the IA locations.

Iowa City, IA, doesn’t work, outside of the area.

Chicago is not eligible

CC/debit funding is permitted, up to $2000. No Amex. My application (WI) is pending, will report back if my CSR goes through as credit or gets canned on account of my CA limit.

$2K CSR funding posted as a sale, not CA.

Cool, thanks for the update

Do you have a CA limit set?

I will be attempting this one in branch. This has been my main bank for about a decade so I’ll see what is allowed and report back.

Last year, I did the $500 bonus, even though I already had a checking account. There was the same restriction about an account not being opened before 10/31, but they just opened a second checking account for me and I ended up getting each piece of the bonus – including the credit for E-Statements, where the bonus language for that said I shouldn’t be eligible because I already had it. I SM’d asking to verify that I’d qualified for that piece of the bonus, and they gave it to me.

According to rep I spoke with today, unlike last year, this promo is actually only for new customers. However, I’ve applied for a new account online anyway since I have some MSR I could knock out, and wonder if they might just give me the bonus anyway. My application is currently pending, so I’ll update again once I hear more.

My account opened on 10 Nov (one day after applying) and showed up under my existing login automatically. Initial funding of $1,850 on my Chase Southwest Premier showed as pending that same day, and posted as a purchase today. My cash advance limit is set to $100 on that card. The funds do not yet show in the bank account.

The bonus last year related to direct deposit posted in the account the day after my last qualifying direct deposit posted. I have DD set up from my employer for 1 December, so I’ll update again as to whether the bonus automatically posts after that hits.

Would like to know, thanks.

Update: Bonus is not for existing customers this time around.

– E-Statements set up on 11 Nov
– Employer DD hit 1 December
– I sent an SM yesterday asking when to expect the bonus to post, and got this response:

“Per the campaign details, all bonuses will be paid within 90 days of account opening. However, this campaign is for new customers or existing customers that did not previously have a checking account. I am showing that you had a previous checking account opened in 2016 and therefore, I do not believe you will receive bonuses for the new account. I apologize for any inconvenience.”

Thanks

WI 11/10 – CC finding of $1999
CF, CFU, SW Premier were all declined.
BoA Cash Rewards Visa went pending… will update when it goes through.

Used CFU… seemed to be coding as purchase. Will update when posts.

CFU posted as a purchase

Funded in WI with $2,000 on Citi AA Plat. Application went to pending, purchase posted and account opened 3 days later.

I can’t get my Citi AA Plat Biz to work.

CIP posted as purchase.

Any tips on getting this to work?

Were you able to get it to work?

Successful DP: WI Bank & Trust $200 bonus
11/14 applied, with $1999 from BoA Cash Rewards
11/16 cc funding posts, account opened
11/26 – $30 opening bonus posts
11/24 $600 pull from Schwab checking via WB&T app
11/28 – $170 bonus posts
Despite a minor headache over cc funding and some IT glitch with my browser, it was an easy and quick bonus to post!

I didn’t know that a pull was considered a DD. Are you sure you didn’t push it from Schwab?

Yeah, I was kind of surprised myself. I did it because my web browser login wasn’t working, and couldn’t set up a push.

I tried pulling from iphone app, and was psyched it triggered!

Mike, I know this is kind of a weird question, but how do you find your account number? I can only see it with all but the last four numbers as Xs.

The easiest way I could find was going through the order checks link, it’ll take you to a page asking you to confirm your account number and has the routing number there as well.

Ally triggered DD.

Did you initiate the transfer through Ally or through Bank and Trust?
