The Offer
- La Capitol Federal Credit Union is offering bonus of up to $650 when you open a new business checking account:
- $500 when you open an economy business checking account with a minimum deposit of $5,000+ and maintain that balance for 90 days
- $650 when you open a performance commercial checking account with a minimum deposit of $25,000+ and maintain that balance for 90 days
- Both bonuses require complete at least five qualifying transactions within 60 days:
- Debit card purchases
- Online purchases
- ACH credits
- Bill payments
- Incoming or outgoing wire transfers
The Fine Print
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them
Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
- Economy business checking has a $17 monthly fee, this is reduced to $15 with eStatements.
- Performance commercial checking has a $30 fee that is waived with an average daily balance of $25,000+
Early Account Termination Fee
I wasn’t able to find a fee schedule so unsure if there is any EATF.
Our Verdict
A lot of annoyance (hard pull, in branch and monthly fee that can’t be waived) with this bonus but at minimum it’s $500 so probably worth doing if you live near a branch. Will add it to our best business bonuses.
