Do you know if they would require a Business Tax ID number, or one can apply using SSN as a Sole Proprietor (as with Credit Card Applications)?

The “essential checking” account is described as follows:

Well-suited for new businesses and sole proprietors or other business types with few monthly transactions and that maintain lower balances.

You wrote “downside is you have to open.” Did you mean to say in branch at the end of that sentence or were you being funny?

In late 2016, I actually went for this one since I was hoping for a value benefit that would pay oin 2017.

Had trouble getting the (gov”t) DD set up with the Hancock routing number provided. Whitney was listed as the institution but Hancock routing number was the only no. provided. Waited two months for the DD to be processed. Didn’t happen. Had to close the account. Just a polite FYI, if you plan to use similar type funding.

I won’t be offended if you delete my prior post admonition is probably not fitting for this. Thanks.
