Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
This account has no monthly fees to worry about.
Early Account Termination Fee
There is a $10 early account termination fee, but they don’t define what early is.
Our Verdict
Don’t think trying to qualify for the 2.59% rate is worth it considering other high interest accounts available. The $250 bonus will really depend if it’s a soft or hard pull, if it’s a soft pull then it will be one of the worth doing.

DP for people who can’t talk on the phone to save their lives:
IC auto-closes accounts approximately 3 months after zeroing out. Woke up to an account closure email this morning.
I had contacted the bank because my e-statement sign-up did not show as enabled on my statement. The bank replied via messaging that e-statements were indeed active and it was an internal reporting error.
However, this put eyes on my account and the CSR informed that debit card purchases needed to be a minimum of $1.00. The T&C do not specify an amount. I have been doing 0.50 via Amazon.
I sent the T&C to the CSR and await their reply. I hope it’s not a deal-breaker for the bonus (although this time around it is a churn).
Confirmed via message; $0.50 is ok for debit card purchase to meet requirements for the bonus.
They dropped the rate for this reward checking account all the way down to 0.5%. interesting timing now that rates are going up. Think the rate dropped last month
I see the terms… but… has anyone churned this and got it more than once after waiting a year?
Just got paid out for the second time, did it first in 2019, second in 2021 but had to call, it was credited the same day I called. They didn’t sound very happy to hear from me.
DP on closing: They require you to come into a location, or call in to close your accounts. SM is a no-go.
I can’t stand it when a bank lets you open online, but won’t let you close online…
How long did you keep the account open before closing? Was there a fee?
ACH transaction only counts if it’s an AUTOMATIC payment from the vendor’s side. Even though the website has auto-bill pay from the bank’s side, you must set it up from the vendor’s side.
Successfully got this bonus. Had to send them a secure message after I had fulfilled all the requirements, they gave me the bonus right away after that. Debit card was a little slow to come in but it wasn’t a big deal because you only need to meet the requirements for the first 3 FULL statement cycles.
Also to be clear you no longer need a $1,500 balance for any time period. I never had more than about $50 in the account.
Did you use direct deposit? They are saying transferring money to an external account does not count as ACH, which seems deceptive to me. They said it needs to be an automatic bill payment.
I pushed money from Schwab into ICFCU
I find myself in a situation where my autopay didn’t go through for the last month so I opened a CS account last minute trying to qualify it with a direct deposit. If I may ask, how much did you push from Schwab and how did you link ICFCU to the Schwab account (trial deposits or through login portal to link the two)?

Did it ever go away?
good question. i never noticed it on here in the best bonus page, I got an ad for it was just passing it on
Do we still have to maintain a 1,500 balance? I dont see anything on the website that indicates that.
