- Office Depot rigged PC malware scans to sell unneeded $300 tech support by Ars Technica. This is not what you like to see, obviously won’t stop me from taking advantage of this weeks Office Depot Mastercard deal though.
- Lawsuit Filed Against Sam’s Club Over Gift Card Issues by Milestomemories. Very strange lawsuit, especially considering one time he just left the cards there by mistake.
- Discover Card – SNL Skit.
- When Transferable Points Don’t Transfer by OMaaT. Issues with Etihad transfers. This isn’t just an issue with American Express, also happening with Citi transfers.

- Add me
Idk about Amex miles to Etihad but for Citi it is well known they can take a week to transfer to a Etihad and half the time you have to contact Etihad after day 8 to get the miles credited to your account. Personally after day 8 of waiting I verified Citi had sent the miles then used DM on Twitter to contact Etihad. They said they would look into it and about a day later the miles were in my account.
If anything the OD article makes me feel less bad about just showing up at the store, buying only gift cards that I know they won’t make money on, and leaving. Place looks like a Sears or Kmart from a few years ago—few customers, overpriced low-quality products and nonexistent service.
The penalty for OD/OM is no where near as severe as it should be. And $35 million, I don’t think it can even cover the money they made if it lasted that long.
The OD/OM article is terrible. Sure it impacts a small subset of customers but wow! The penalty doesn’t seems near as harsh as it should be. Way to kill any consumer trust for those that are aware. I will stick to only buying GCs from these two 🙂
Sounds like some April Fools stuff.
Dumb of him to leave the store without a gift card in hand.
“Add me” 🙂
Lol oops
Got a good laugh out of that SNL skit. “That ain’t it!”
