Made purchase directly with Geico on March 17 and still have not gotten the $15. Anyone else not getting it yet?

In contrast, when I did this same offer last August the email notification came right after spending with PayPal*Progressive, and the $15 credit appeared 1 day later.

Any update?

I paid State Farm on 3/29, and received “Great news! You recently used your Amex Offer at STATE FARM” right away.

I am pretty sure the credit had posted (or at least shown under Savings tab) last year (also State Farm) by now.

No notification in either Aug 2021 or Mar 2022. I decided to chat with rep Mar 29, he said credit was indeed merited and should apple within 7-10 days. Not posted yet but in app under Offers under Added to Card offers it now shows the 5% insurance down at the bottom under Redeemed Offers.

Thanks for the update.

I now see the credit under the Savings tab in my account (website).

You got the credit posted eventually? I just paid the insurance with Geico but no email notification this time.

There is a little icon of a house and a car next to the offer headline, but nothing in the text specifies the types of insurance which do or don’t qualify. Has anyone tried this for health insurance?

(If not, I suppose I’ll be the DP I wish to see)

I should have checked before posting, but as the voice-over from the famous commercial says, “they don’t take American Express.” (I have Anthem btw, other insurers may be more accepting.)

The merchant codes don’t differentiate between types of insurance, so I bet any would qualify.

Confirmed with AmEx chat that the 5% back (in my case) is for multiple transactions up to $15 back in total.

The language was a little vague so in case you were wondering

The limit of $15 back is only applicable to the 5% additional offer for insurance payments. It still gets the 1% or whatever you’d normally get for purchases, so an $800 insurance payment on an Amex with this insurance offer and 1% on all purchases would earn $23 total.

Also for many larger insurance companies you can make a one time payment in any amount, so if you got the 10% make a $150 payment on the Amex and leave the Citi to pay the $650 on the due date. In my opinion these deals depend on the time/work you want to put into them. Amex is hoping you will add the card, forget about it, and get 1% for the next several cycles.

Just be careful doing this with Progressive. I was doing exactly this (pay in full over two payments), and after the first one it assumed I was paying in installments (which is a lot more over the course of the six month policy than paying in full). Eventually, I was able to do it, but not worth the hassle of getting a CSR to intervene.

There’s a $15 limit, which means it’s only 10% on $150. Not missing much, as most insurance payments are much higher than that.
