Our Verdict
Usually gift card purchases will work even if they are excluded in the fine print as long as you buy them from the front desk counter. If you have the generic Hilton honors amex offer for $35/3,500 points for spending $350 then this offer will stack (e.g if you spend $350 you’ll receive $35 from that promotion and $50 from this promotion). It’s annoying that this offer is so restricted, but at least the double stacking opportunity is available. Go through a portal for another 4% back. And don’t forget to enroll in double points as well. If your stay is after 9/5/18 you can usually call up and pay via phone in advance and it’ll still trigger the credit as well.
