No idea how useful is this, seems good on the surface but I suspect it’s not as good as it looks.

How does one get targeted for this offer?
Yes, this is very useful for travelers in areas served by MTA. It’s not quite worth face value for medium-frequency travelers, because MTA offers discounts for buying tickets in bulk (but then it would be hard to make 3 transactions without having tickets expire), but this is excellent for infrequent of very frequent travelers.
Easily 3 free to 50% off one-way off-peak rides depending on what zone you are traveling to.
It is as great as it looks if you use the service….
MTA should include the NY subway as well. Doubt Amex would be able to see the difference if your able to load Metro card credit in the app as well. Its a really good offer in the tri-state area.
MTA eTix is for Long Island Railroad, and Metronorth, which is separate from NYC Subway.
Not valid for transfers to bus, subways, etc. Looks like JFK AirTrain is excluded as well.
Because eTix doesn’t work on the Airtrain, which is part of the NYC subway system.
Ugh this is amazing but of course I’m not targeted because I’m in CA now. Would’ve looooved to use this when I’m back in NY for the holidays 🙁
Looks great.
Chase had a similar promo few years back except it’s one time $30. It was great.
Googling MTA Etix now
It’s good. Better than I would have expected for this service. I wish I could got get it on more cards in our family.
