Our Verdict

Offered a similar deal late last year as well. Good way to get some savings for people that haven’t cut the cord already.  I’d also recommend reading about these 14 Things to Know about Amex Offers Deals. There is a similar deal on cell phone bills as well.

DP regarding the 10% on cable or satellite offer.
For me it worked for <$100 charge. I'm with Cincinnati Bell and my monthly bills are ~$55. In both Aug and Sep, I received the 10% of that back ($5.5 each).

I spent $100 in August for my cable bill and received the offer email and the 1k pints. Did it again for September and received the offer email but I have not received the 1k points. I’ve received the 1,500 points for the grocery offer and that posted 2 days after the cable offer’s charge.

Anyone else not get the bonus points past the first time? Also didn’t get the AU bonus past the first time either. Amex needs to get their act together.

Did you end up getting the bonus a second time?
I thought the fine print says up to 3 times?

anyone know if this loophole works?
Want to subscribe to Verizon Unlimited
– sign up and pay multiple $100 credits with all my 10 cards and put in $1000 “credit” into the account
– enroll in autopay/paperless billing
– they will just withdraw from my credit and i still get the “autopay discounts.”

DP:
Spectrum (Internet only) works with BCE.
Received the congratulations email immediately after bill is paid.
I can see AmEx categorizes “TIME WARNER CABLE” (mother company of Spectrum) as “Communications – Cable & Internet Comm”.

I paid $100 to Frontier FIOS (internet only) and it triggered the credit, but it did take a day or two. How long has it been?

Also note that you need to make 3 separate $100 payments to max the credit:

“Get 1,000 additional Membership Rewards® points each time you use your enrolled Card to make a single payment of $100+ online to pay your US Cable or Satellite television bill by 11/15/2017. Limit of 3,000 additional MR points”

Do I have to pay $300 all in one transaction or can I just pay $100 each month for 3 months and then get $10 credit each time

Henry, did you get the $30 credit posted to your amex account for the Comcast internet service payment?

What do you mean “if you haven’t cut the cord?” What would you be using?

Probably implying that you can’t get the cable discount if you don’t have cable, but I successfully got it for my internet-only bill from a telecom provider, and others have gotten it for cable-based internet.

I got targeted for both the Cell Phone Bill and Cable Bill amex offers. I added both the offers to my card and paid $100 on att.com with the registered card couple of days ago and got two confirmation emails from the amex, i thought it was strange or thought it might be a system glitch because usually i only get one email if i use any amex offer but today i was checking my amex Membership Rewards and a single transaction on att.com triggered two bonuses. It’s like 20% cash back if you pay 100$.

This is how it looks on my Membership Rewards activity:
08/01/2017 Earned Telco Industry MR Offer 1,000
08/01/2017 Earned Cable Industry MR Offer 1,000

This is the posted Transaction:
30 Jul AT&T*BILL PAYMENT 97DALLAS TX $101.00

Offers i added to the card:
1. Spend $100+, get 1,000 Membership Rewards® Points. Up to 3x Points. Save on your cell phone bill online

2. Spend $100+, get 1,000 Membership Rewards® Points. Up to 3x Points. Save on your cable or satellite TV bill

I only have wireless service with ATT. I am not sure why it triggered both the offers.

I just wanted to bring it to your attention so we can see if other readers are also getting a double dip here.

Thanks

So similar situation except the points did not post. I did two purchases on ATT.com for $101 with my PRG. Both triggered two sets of emails (assuming for the phone and cable offers). The purchases posted on July 31 and August 2.

I have 0 additional points in my MR rewards summary and only 17 points pending from some spend on my Plat card. Not sure what was different for me.

To be clear I paid a Uverse Internet only bill. So if Amex can get extra details its possible they did not cover me at all because it was Internet and not Phone and
