[Still Being Offered]U.S. Bank Offering $150 Bonuses On Cash+ & Cash 365

Update: This is still being offered even though it was due to expire on the 16th.

Update: Reposting as today is the last day for these deals.

As rumored, U.S. Bank is offering increased sign up bonuses on the following two cards:

Both cards are offering a bonus of $150 after $500 in spend within the first 90 days of account opening. These offers should be available until February 15th, 2018.

Cash+

  • Sign up bonus of $150 after $500 in spend within the first 90 days
  • Card earns 5% cash back on the first $2,000 in spend each quarter on two categories you choose. Categories can be found here.
  • 0% APR on balance transfers for the first 12 billing cycles, 3%/$5 balance transfer fee (whichever is greater)

Cash 365

  • Sign up bonus of $150 after $500 in spend within the first 90 days
  • Card earns 1.5% cash back on all purchases
  • 0% APR on balance transfers for the first 12 billing cycles, 3%/$5 balance transfer fee (whichever is greater)

Our Verdict

I don’t think it makes sense to sign up for the Cash 365 card, as there are plenty of cards that earn at a higher rate than 1.5% cash back on all purchases. The cash+ card is more interesting due to the 5% categories that you can choose. Usually this card has either no sign up bonus or a bonus of $100 or $125 so $150 is a good offer. That being said U.S. Bank can be difficult to get approved for and it might make more sense to sign up for the Altitude Reserve card or wait to see if they offer an Olympics bonus on the FlexPerks card. If you can max out the 5% categories then this is still a great card. As always make sure you read through these things everybody should know about U.S. Bank credit cards before applying.

Useful for anyone planning to apply for the Altitude Reserve (and are well over 5/24) and doesn’t already have a relationship with US Bank.

I turn my adbock off on your site, that was like a year ago. You must have let someone sneaky sign up to place ads on the site because not it is really bad, video ads? I am really surprised by this. you can edit out this comment if you like no problem bo harm no foul.

Anyone know if you are allowed to esit your categories and, if so, how often?

PR, it’s every quarter. And they pretty much will stay the same w/ what they offer. This is my second ever credit card I got for switching to US Bank for a bonus in order to keep my checking fee free. They will send reminder emails about setting your categories. I always say I’ll switch my categories from fast food because I should be spending $0 dollars there, but never do, haha!
FWIW everyone, I have used them for 2 years without issue, love that there’s no minimum cash out for rewards balance.

For some reason, I really like my Cash+ card. It is a Visa, which is nice, and $0 AF, and the 5% back make it competitive with my Freedom cards. US Bank has given me no problems in the 10 years I’ve banked with them too, so a $150 bonus on it is a pretty sweet deal.

Is the $150 bonus considered “income” for tax purposes? Will it generate a 1099 at year end?

US Bank sent me a $200 after $500 spend Cash+ pre-qualified targeted offer in January, I went for it and was approved.

I was targeted about a week ago with the same signup bonus although I closed my accounts last December.

If they had Costco as a 5% category I would apply…..

Yes, just my luck>?< Approved for cash+ Visa on 12/19/2017. Bonus was only $100 with $500 spend. Following DOC's advice and will send SM to see if they will honor the $150 bonus.

No luck.
Account opened less than 30-days but U.S. Bank would not match the $150 bonus. Expected better; although they don’t exactly have the best reviews.

Does anyone know if Amazon falls into one of the 5% categories?

+1 ….but the website says ” amazon Kindle book purchases” work for 5% back if you pick the “bookstores”option. Not sure if this means anything else on amazon. Anyone?

Amazon is anything sold and shipped directly from amazon only not 3rd party sellers, also bookstores is becoming household bills in Q2, I’m an employee

That’s what I was wondering, because it says “Below is a list of popular merchants in this category” but footnotes it with: “The entities listed above are merely examples of the type of companies and merchants that fall within each particular category.” I know any Amazon purchase I make shows up categorized as a bookstore with my Barclaycard Choice Privileges Signature Visa.

How soon do the cards show up in the reports? If I don’t have any US Bank cards, and at about 6/24, which other US Bank card is a good option to double stack this with?

“We’re reviewing your Cash+™ Visa Signature® Card application…You’ll receive an application decision by U.S. Mail in the next 7–10 days.” Bah.

At least they hard-pulled from TransUnion for once. My Equifax score was getting a little bogged down.

US Bank almost reviews every single application manually. I got the same message and was approved on Monday.

Thank you, that’s helpful to know! Wow, they really are old school.

I received a 7-10 day message as well when applying around 7pm last night. No hard pull done yesterday; Experian pull was done this morning. Automated phone line says application is still being reviewed manually and can take up to three days for the application to be manually reviewed.
