Both cards are offering a bonus of $150 after $500 in spend within the first 90 days of account opening. These offers should be available until February 15th, 2018.

Cash 365
- Sign up bonus of $150 after $500 in spend within the first 90 days
- Card earns 1.5% cash back on all purchases
- 0% APR on balance transfers for the first 12 billing cycles, 3%/$5 balance transfer fee (whichever is greater)
Our Verdict
I don’t think it makes sense to sign up for the Cash 365 card, as there are plenty of cards that earn at a higher rate than 1.5% cash back on all purchases. The cash+ card is more interesting due to the 5% categories that you can choose. Usually this card has either no sign up bonus or a bonus of $100 or $125 so $150 is a good offer. That being said U.S. Bank can be difficult to get approved for and it might make more sense to sign up for the Altitude Reserve card or wait to see if they offer an Olympics bonus on the FlexPerks card. If you can max out the 5% categories then this is still a great card. As always make sure you read through these things everybody should know about U.S. Bank credit cards before applying.
US Bank is awful about rewards. 3 days for a category selection to take effect and they won’t give cash back for purchases made during that time. Customer service is useless to help out with it too. Very bad, cannot recommend.
How long after meeting the requirement before bonus posts?
received the bonus after the statement had closed
Thank you!
Interestingly, even if now I have both, they still mailed me an offer for the Cash+ card. I doubt I can still apply and get the bonus offer.
Instant Approval for the Cash+
I had it show up under the pre-approval cards, so I went for it. I was too lazy to freeze the Sage and ARS reports.
DP: Applied for this card in February at a 763 score and was instantly approved, was not pre-qualified. U.S. Bank pulled TransUnion for me.
DP: I just redeemed my $150 sign up bonus as deposit into my US Bank checking account and was told I would get an additional one-time $25 cash+bonus within 6-8 weeks.
Here’s the exact wording: “You will automatically earn a $25 Cash+ Bonus Rewards Card the first time you redeem $100 or more in a single cash back redemption. To redeem your cash back, log in to usbank.com and select “Rewards Center.””
I applied online and was approved instantly for the Cash+
Welcome to U.S. Bank.
Your Cash+ Visa Signature® Card application has been approved! What to Expect Next Look for your new card to arrive by U.S. Mail in the next 7–10 days. (Note that your application may be subject to further review. If there is a change in the status of your application, we’ll notify you by U.S. Mail in 7–10 days.)
Seems to still be active as of 3/15/18
I got a targeted mailer for the cash+ today in the mail, $150 bonus for $50” spend. I’m going to go ahead and do it, as I don’t travel a ton and i’m out of other cash back options.
Though i’m pre-qualified, they still have to review my application. Classic US Bank
“We’re reviewing your Cash+™ Visa Signature® Card application…You’ll receive an application decision by U.S. Mail in the next 7–10 days.” Bah.
At least they hard-pulled from TransUnion for once. My Equifax score was getting a little bogged down.
US Bank almost reviews every single application manually. I got the same message and was approved on Monday.
Thank you, that’s helpful to know! Wow, they really are old school.
I received a 7-10 day message as well when applying around 7pm last night. No hard pull done yesterday; Experian pull was done this morning. Automated phone line says application is still being reviewed manually and can take up to three days for the application to be manually reviewed.
