Use this Capital One Venture Signup Link with $59 Annual Fee + 50k Bonus

We posted yesterday about an increased 50,000 bonus for the Capital One Venture card. At the same time, they increased the annual fee from $59 to $95. Reader Yet Another Redditor tells us that there is still some links which show the $59 annual fee and still show the increased 50k bonus.

Direct Link to $59 offer

Bear in mind, none of this matters if you plan to cancel at year’s end before paying the annual fee. However, if you plan on keeping the card, try using the $59 and hope they leave you grandfathered at that rate for a long time.

I imagine a lot of people will try applying now due to the increased bonus, and you might as well go for the $59 link.

I applied using this link Sunday and got approved 740 – 750 in credit karma with 30K limit. But I do see it is down now.

Thought I’d give it a shot since I was pre-approved for the Quicksilver card, but no luck! I’m probably around 24/24 with a 780 Fico score.

My DENIAL letter said my Equifax credit score was 735 which seems low to me, especially since my MyFICO.com subscription says I’m 772 on FICO Score 8 model for Equifax, so I’m guessing CapitalOne is using a different FICO scoring model. But none of my other FICO scoring models match up to 735 on Equifax.

772 – FICO Score 8 (current and most used FICO score, max 850 on Equifax)
770 – FICO Score 9 (newest version but not used a lot yet, max 850 on Equifax)

701 – FICO Score 5 (mainly for mortgage lending, max 850 on Equifax)

774 – FICO Auto 8 (current auto lending version, max 900 on Equifax)
678 – FICO Auto 5 (older version, max 900 on Equifax)
763 – FICO Auto 9 (newest version, max 900 on Equifax)

781 – FICO Bankcard 8 (current credit card lending version, max 900 on Equifax)
699 – FICO Bankcard 5 (older version, max 900 on Equifax)
780 – FICO Bankcard 9 (newest version, max 900 on Equifax)

I just don’t get it. I only had Experian frozen, I’ll try to Recon and unfreeze my Experian. Annoying CapitalOne, really annoying.

Shouldn’t have added in my biz credit cards- I’m actually 5/24 on my TU. My letter stated “Based on your credit report from Trans Union, number of bank cards tradelines opened in the last 24 months”. No other reasons. Not gonna recon because someone on Reddit said they were informed by recon there might be another hard pull, I was willing to do 3 but 6 is too much for me.

Similar experience, FICO 812, 7/24 got denied for the same reason. Sounds like some had success with higher counts though. Any clues on how their 24 month rule works or potential workarounds?

Got a 10K limit with 9/24 and a FICO credit score of 800+ with 20 card accounts open. I usually have a balance on 3-4 cards a month when the statements come, but I always pay on time to avoid interest charges. My total credit utilization is usually never more than 3%. I have no prior history with Capital One. Tried to apply for the Savor card also, but got rejected so the 6 month rule between applications is alive and well.

I got my rejection letter via email, I was at 6/24 when I applied.
their reasons are:
• Based on your credit report from Equifax, too few or no revolving accounts have a balance
• Based on your credit report from Trans Union, there are too many new revolving accounts
• Based on your application information, income is insufficient for requested credit

It also says I had a 775 credit score with Experian

Does having Capital One Checking/Saving help?
Freezing costs $10 / bureau in CA? I don’t know if that outweighs the HP…
