• Verity Credit Union is offering a bonus a referral bonus. The person referring receives $100 and the person being referred can earn up to $300. $300 is broken down as follows:
  • Open a rewards checking account and meet the qualifications in the first full month of membership
  • Get a loan or credit card within 60 days of joining
  • Maintain an average deposit balance of $10,000 or more in the first 60 days of membership

The Fine Print

• Offer available for new consumer memberships established after January 31, 2020.
• New member must not have been an owner of a Verity Prime Share Savings within the previous six months.
• Must be at least 18 years old to receive referral or new member incentives.
• All cash incentives, whether for referral or new member activities, will be deposited to the applicable Prime Share Savings account within 2 weeks of any qualified activity.
• 1. Reward checking qualifications: receive e-Statements, primary member logs into Digital Banking one time, complete 12 debit card transactions during the first full Monthly Qualification Cycle. A “Monthly Qualification Cycle” is from the last calendar date of the previous month to the day before the last calendar date of the current month (ex: June 30-July 31). Debit card transactions must post and settle to the account during the Monthly Qualification Cycle, and must be processed by merchants and received by the credit union as POS transactions. Same monthly qualifications apply to receive ongoing rewards associated with the selected checking account. 2. Excludes share-secured and work-out loans, and auto loans established at a dealership.

Our Verdict

The rewards checking account earns 5% APY on balances up to $10,000 for the first six months, so putting the $10,000 in there for 60 days isn’t a bad deal at all. Definitely think this is worth doing and the 5% account worth keeping long term to make it even better. We will add this to our list of the best checking account bonuses.
