American Express Business Platinum Standard Offer Now: Up To 75,000 Points After $20,000 Spend

Recently the American Express Business Platinum card had a sign up bonus of 100,000 Membership Rewards points, broken down as follows:

  • 50,000 points after $5,000 in spend
  • Additional 25,000 points after an additional $10,000 in spend

Previously this card offered a bonus of 40,000 points after $5,000 in spend (or maybe it was $3,000). It looks like American Express have decided to revert to a new bonus structure on this card going forward, the current offer is as follows:

  • 50,000 points after $10,000 in spend
  • Additional 25,000 points after an additional $10,000 in spend

That’s a huge total spend requirement of $20,000 for 75,000 miles. Significantly worse than the recent 100,000 deal both in terms of total points and also minimum spend requirements. There was some rumors about American Express adding additional benefits to this card in Q1 of this year, I’m not sure if they are on hold now that Chase has reduced the bonus on the Chase Sapphire Reserve online (still available in branch).

“Additional 50,000 points after an additional $10,000 in spend”

Should be 25,000, not 50,000.

I have the Business Gold (for which I got 75K points), and now I have an Amex offer of an upgrade to Platinum with 50K for $10K spend over 5 months. The extended period is interesting.

I just upgraded about a couple days ago. This will be my second upgrade and have a couple more offers to upgrade. Have only had these cards a couple months and already offering me upgrades.

Title should be “Now Down To” since it actually decreased.

I’ve got platinum mailers in front of me here for 100K personal and 150K business. Guess I need to use them.

Anything special you did to get the 150k business? What current Amex personal and biz cards do you have?

A friend of mine just got the 150k offer. He didn’t have any Amex relationship. Funny thing is, he got an offer last year for a personal plat and when he applied he was denied lol.
