American Express Hilton No Annual Fee 75,000 Point Offer (No Lifetime Language)

The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • American Express is offering 75,000 points after $1,000 in spend within the first three months on the Hilton no annual fee card. This offer contains no lifetime language.

Card Details

  • No annual fee
  • Card earns at the following rates:
    • 7x on Hilton hotels or resorts
    • 5x at U.S. restaurants, U.S. supermarkets and U.S. gas stations
    • 3x on all other purchases
  • Welcome bonus offer not available to applicants who have or have had this product language is not present on this offer, but double check yourself.

Our Verdict

Strange that there looks to be a public link with no lifetime language. Offer was originally sent out via e-mail, so it’s very possible that it’s supposed to be targeted. Highest bonus we’ve seen on this card is 100,000 points or 75,000 + $100 so this offer is really only attractive for people that have had the card before.

I think there is some risk involved here as we normally don’t see no lifetime language public links like this. Because of that I won’t be adding it to the best credit card bonus page for now. If you have any questions about American Express, read this post first.

Approved. Have been denied other Amex cards in the last 2-3 months, & I’ve had this card before.

Dustin
Dustin

same, couldnt get other amex cards (hilton business) but approved for this

Applied, approved. Thanks, Doc. Had this before, and all the others. Maybe I’ll eventually get enough hilton points for a decent redemption!

Is it possible to apply again when the current card is still open?

yes

What happens if I apply for this card considering that I already have the Aspire card? Can I get the bonus after spending and cancel it a year later? Will they claw back?

Shane

I’m not aware of any DPs where Amex has clawed back third party points. They can and do claw back their own MR points though.

I’ve seen instances where SPG and Hilton points are clawed back

The value of inching closer to reach 5/24 outweighs 75K Hilton points, Otherwise It’s a good snack.

It’s good if you’re LOL/24. I churn 7 people’s credit cards, only I am under 5/24 but Chase killed all my cards last year and they won’t give me a new one.

I assume 2/90 would still apply here, yes?

Does Amex still have the 5 credit cards max rule?
Tempted but don’t want to ruin my relationship with Amex for this.

Abey

5 plus charge cards.
Nothing will be ruined. They will decline without even an inquiry.

Will they not treat people who use this the same way they treated people who used the leaked 100k platinum links? I’m less worried about the decline and more worried about them putting on some RAT list to deny future bonuses.

If you go over the limit they’ll just call you and ask if you want to close an exsting one. Happened to me a few times. They don’t even care. Avoid closing <1yr old accounts though

Is it possible to upgrade the card to Aspire just after the first three months?

I had 4 Amex CC and 1 charge. I cancelled an amex CC to free up one slot just now. Can I apply immediately for this or should I wait a day or longer for it to clear? It says cancellation is immediate and reflects in my online profile

Intl churner

You can have more than 5 Amex CC no need to cancel.

jtizzle

more than 5 CC (not including charge?) How many of their credit cards can you have?

Frito Pendejo

4 or 5. I dunno what he’s talking about.

Intl churner

Sorry I meant more than 4! Since you only had 4 CC you should be good.

I applied for the aspire and got approved then received an upgrade offer to aspire on my ascend card upgraded now I have 2 aspires, and spent the money on the upgraded ascend to aspire first and receive the points right away did I ruin it for the sign up card?

GH
GH

No, you should receive both the bonus.

What can you redeem the points for? Gift cards or cash back? Ratio?

Frito Pendejo

Hilton stays, amazon. Value is usually poor, around 0.4cpp

Andrew D

Pretty sure its 0.2cpp at amazon typically.

Link for the reward list?

For amazon gc, its 75k x 0.4c?
That’s $300 though. Any link to a list of the rewards?

Frito Pendejo

I think its even worse w/amazon. Hilton redemptions are commonly around 0.4cpp unless you find a good deal

I already have the hilton honors and received the bonus on it. I am still holding the card. I applied for another hilton honors using the public offer with no lifetime language and it went to pending. Will see what happens….

Mikey
Mikey

Stay positive with respect to the pending status. I was in this situation with another card recently. Called AMEX to inquire and it was simply an address clarification they needed.

Marcus
Marcus

I ended up being denied for having the maximum amount of AMEX card accounts that they allow. I only have 4 credit cards but I thought I would be good for 5. I guess not. I would want to call to see if they will reconsider but I already have a Hilton Honors card and it would probably look shady.

Sounds like Amazon is short of it’s new account sign-up agreements with Hilton.
