Well, for starters you could use some punctuations. Most would feel pretty abused reading this.

Any idea if I can book with National to trigger this?

Can they really check if the booking was directly with Enterprise Rent-A-Car (if it was not prepaid at third-party website)?

Thanks for calling this out. It was listed way down in the midst of dozens of junk offers and I wouldn’t have seen it.

Book with a card that offers primary CDW coverage, and when returning the rental, change payment method (as long as you haven’t crashed the car!).

Matthew
Matthew

How! They allow that? I didn’t know about that at all. I will try next time

Just say you want to change payment. Return agents can all do that, might take 5 mins though. The only requirement is the card needs to be in the primary renter’s name.

I have Premium Car Rental Insurance through AmEx ($14.99 per rental up to 40 days).. so usually I book a car with the AmEx with insurance coverage and when returning the car if no accidents.. change to a different card (usually 2% card).. is that smart or dumb?

Jethro Tuller
Jethro Tuller

Do you get charged the $14.99 at all then?

Ted

You’re supposed to each time though the last rental it didn’t charge it and I’m confused why

I always book car rentals using visa or MasterCard primary CDW insurance. How does amex compare?

Sam
Sam

They don’t provide primary CDW. AmEx provides their own insurance and they charge $20/ rental.

Jethro Tuller

AmEx charges $20-something per rental, not per day, and it covers trucks which others don’t.
