Update 12/7/21: referral links down to 40k now. The direct link below still shows the 100k offer.

Update 12/6/21: Referral links now showing end date of 6/30/2022

Update 12/2/21: Chase website is now showing lower offer, referrals & direct link below still showing the 100k sign up bonus.

The Offer

Direct Link to offer

  • Chase has increased the signup bonus on all of their three consumer cards (Plus, Premier, Priority) to 100,000 points on public links and referral links. The bonus is broken down as follows:
    • Earn 50,000 points after you spend $2,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.
    • Earn an additional 50,000 points after you spend $12,000 on purchases in the first 12 months from account opening.

These offers ends 12/7/21. The Performance Business card and Premier Business card still have their regular 80,000 and 60,000 points bonuses, respectively.

Card Details

Our Verdict

The highest we’ve seen these cards was at 80,000 points, I believe this 100,000 deal is the highest ever. All of these signup bonus offers are available via referral as well with the new member getting the same bonus and the referrer getting 20,000 points.

If you spend $2,000 within 3 months and another $10,000 during the first year, you’ll end up with 112,000 points which brings you near the 125,000 needed for the Companion Pass. Hopefully you can do some category spend or shopping portal spend or an actual flight to push you up to 125,000.

The best way to play this is to push off meeting the spend requirements so that all points post after January 1st 2022, then complete the spend requirement in early 2022. This way, you’ll get the Companion Pass for most of 2022 and the entire 2023. Points post with statement close, so you can meet the spend during December, as long as the statement will close in January. You can also hold off a bit before applying for the card to make the timing easier; these 100k offers are slated to be around until December 7th. (Points earned from referrals will work for the Companion Pass; if you signup and then refer a friend/spouse, that should get you all the way to the Pass. Again, be careful with the timing.)

Chase Southwest also launched today a slew of new benefits and an increased referrer bonus as well. Check out these other Things to Know about Chase before applying. We’ll add these to the best credit card bonus page.

I signed up for the 50,000 point promo thinking i could get statement credit or a decent gift card option. The only decent options are bass pro shop or REI besides petsmart or a few places to get food. Do they ever offer a better selection of gift cards?
I’m 400 points from being able to get all my gift cards. Any easy ways to get extra points?

Any datapoints on when people’s bonuses are posting? My statement closed 1/29/21 and still have not seen any of the points post (neither the 26K in spending or the 100K sign up bonus).

HELP!

I applied for the card 12/5/2021 and was approved. I met the spend requirements for the 50K bonus and the 50K posted to my SW Rapid Rewards account on 12/29/2021 instead of my statement closing date in early Jan. Now it’s showing those points are not eligible towards Companion Pass (because they pushed to the RR account in 2021 and not 2022).

Am I SOL? 🙁

Update: Called Chase, they’re putting in the request for the points to be returned and re-issued in 2022. Fingers crossed.

No, didn’t have written proof. Thought that was the only option.

What’s EO @ WN?

having the same issue, I accumulated 124,900 points, and was waiting for Jan 1 to earn the last 100 to get the companion pass, and now it shows I have zero points counting towards the pass.

Yeah, that is not how it works. You have to work inside of a calendar year to get the companion pass, so you should have either waited till 2022 to start accumulating those points, or bit bullet and made the spend in 2021. At least that way you would have the pass until the end of 2022.

Yeah, I know how it works. Was told the statement was closing Jan 5, 2022. Instead, it closed Dec 20, 2021. Therefore, the points posted in 2021. Of course I would have waited until the next statement if I wasn’t told the incorrect statement closing date.
