The Offer

• Every time you refer someone to Bellco and they open a Bellco checking account you can both select a reward of your choice. Rewards include:
  • $100 Amazon giftcard
  • $100 Whole Foods gift card
  • Other random items
• To be eligible for reward the referred party must meet the following requirements within 90 days of receiving the initial e-mail notification:
  • Deposit $250 into the new checking account at time of account opening
  • Attach a VISA debit card to the new checking account
  • Not already be a tax owner, non-tax owner, or signor on any Bellco checking account
• You can also get an additional $100 by setting up direct deposit. You need to have two qualifying direct deposit transactions post and clear the account within 90 days of account opening.

The Fine Print

• A “qualifying direct deposit” is defined as a recurring direct deposit of a paycheck, pension, Social Security, or other regular monthly income electronically deposited by an employer or an outside agency into a Bellco checking account.
• All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them

Avoiding Fees

They offer a free checking account with no monthly fees. I wasn’t able to find a fee schedule so I’m unsure if there is any early account termination fee or not. They also have a 2.25% rewards checking account. But there are better high interest savings accounts out there.

Our Verdict

Unfortunately it’s a hard pull so not worth considering. Feel free to share your referral information in the comments. They also offer a credit card with $150 bonus and 3% categories. Won’t be adding this to our bank promotions page as there are so many better options available.
