The Offer
- First Hawaiian Bank is offering a bonus of $100 when you open a new YesSavings account complete the following requirements:
- Open with a minimum opening deposit of $10,000
- Set up an automatic deposit into the account of $100 or more within 30 days of account opening
The Fine Print
- Open a YesSavings account with a minimum opening deposit of $10,000, drawn from another financial institution, by October 31, 2018, and set up a minimum automatic deposit into the account of $100 within 30 days of account opening to receive a $100 statement credit.
- Accounts closed within 180 days of opening date will be assessed a $50 early closure charge.
- Please allow 4 to 6 weeks after the $100 automatic deposit into the account to receive the statement credit.
- Limit of one $100 credit per offer or account.
- Business and corporate accounts do not qualify for this offer.
- This offer cannot be combined with any other promotional offer.
- Bonuses are considered interest and will be reported on IRS Form 1099-INT (or Form 1042-S, if applicable).
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them

Our Verdict
The $10,000 deposit being required is annoying, but it doesn’t look like it needs to be kept in there for any amount of time. Still excludes all those without $10,000 in liquid cash. We don’t see a lot of bank bonuses for those in Hawaii though so it is nice to see this one. If it’s a soft pull it might be worth considering. I am only doing it to meet my goal of $1000. In bank bonus money for the year. Still shopping my money around. Also live in Hawaii.
Meh. I live Hawaii but I’ll earn more money putting my $10k somewhere else for that period.
you only need to keep $500 to avoid fee, looks like you could just pull $9500 soon after opening. That being said, I also live here but don’t intend on doing this.
