The Offer

- Open new account & get $10
- Receive a qualifying direct deposit within 60 days of account opening and get $90
The Fine Print
- Good for new checking account relationships only; you cannot be an owner or joint owner on a current First National checking account.
- All consumer checking accounts are eligible.
- Checking account must be opened in branch only.
- This promotion may not be combined with any other offer. Limit one per person per account.
- One bonus will be applied if multiple accounts are opened in the same name.
- The account bonuses are subject to IRS reporting and will be reflected on a 1099-INT statement. Offer expires 07/02/18.
- The $10 new checking account bonus will be credited to your account immediately.
- The $90 direct deposit bonus will be credited to your account within 30 days from the date we receive your direct deposit.
- A qualifying direct deposit of at least one ACH must be received within 60 days of the account being opened.
- A qualifying direct deposit is one that is deposited via ACH (electronically) into your new checking account, or through a minimum of nine credits posted to your new checking account via a debit card transaction received within 60 days of the account being opened.
- Transfers and / or deposits made via ATM, online or teller, and transfers from a bank or brokerage account do not constitute a credit or a direct deposit.
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them
Avoiding Fees
This account has no monthly fees, I wasn’t able to find a fee schedule so I’m unsure if any early account termination fee is charged or not.
Our Verdict
First National Bank has got to be one of the most common bank names. There is one in PA & MD, OH, WV & D.C., NC, SC, another in UT and then this one in NE. This one has offered a $160 bonus just recently so this offer probably isn’t worth considering. Because a bigger bonus was so recently offered, we won’t be adding this to the best checking sign up bonuses.

Bonus is back, does not seem to be NE only. Will try in OH. William Charles your link you have right now leads to the promo page.
Chuck wanted to add you too so one of you see it
Last time it didn’t say NE only either, but it was. If you try it let us know. I’ll repost this over the weekend
Might be worth updating it to the $160 link though. https://www.1stnationalbank.com/get160/
Dan, that link is for CO only. At least according to the banker and tellers I spoke with in a branch in Omaha today.
Thanks for the heads up. Haven’t had chance to go to branch yet. I might just call them ahead of time and ask about Ohio specific bonus.
Where does it say Nebraska only? I’ll be in Colorado in a few days, and there seems to be a branch right next to where I’ll be staying.
Replying to my own question. Went into a branch in Colorado today. Banker told me the $100 bonus is for Nebraska only. However, there is an equivalent promo in Colorado as well-and that’s for $160! He even gave me the link: https://www.1stnationalbank.com/get160/
I didn’t have ID with me today, will report back if I can open with an out-of-state address and lol/12 Chex inquiries.
Also note that even though it’s the same (or sister) bank, the Omaha one has website http://www.firstnational.com while the Denver one has website http://www.1stnational.com Damn confusing, if you ask me! Both are subsidiaries of the FNBO, however!
I got their 160 bonus last year in a Colorado branch north of Denver on a short visit, very easy, but they locked me out of the online account access through excessive “security” (would ask all those questions on every single login, especially on my phone, even without WiFi use). They also have branches here in Texas, just north of Dallas (in Frisco and Plano).
This is FNBO, BTW, it’s not just another First National. I’m a bit surprised for you guys and gals to not spot the connection, on a credit-card blog, no less. I was hoping to receive the TravElite invitation after having the account, but have yet to receive anything other than the bonus itself.
BTW, the branch had really good coffee, although, that specific branch in Westminster where I’ve opened the account is now permanently closed, sadly.
Yeah I spotted the connection just didn’t think it really mattered as you still need to open in branch.
