PSA: AT&T Customers 33% Discount from Amex Ending Soon

There are a number of offers from Amex for cell phones going on currently.

If you have a couple of these offers on the same card, they’ll stack and give you both discounts on a single purchase. For example, if you have the Verizon deal and the 10% deal or the AT&T deal and the 10% deal, you’ll get both credits for a single payment.

We wanted to bring attention with this post that the 33% AT&T offer ends on December 1, 2016. Many of us are prepaying our AT&T cellular bill for the next year or two to lock in the 33% discount – it’s really an amazing deal.

Better not to leave it to the last minute in case they have limits on how many payments you can make in a day. I’ve had success making at least three payments in a row; $150 then $150.01 then $150.02.

If you ever change carriers, you’ll get a refund from AT&T for the balance, likely as a credit to your Amex card. If that happens, the Amex offer credit will probably be clawed back. In any case, if you don’t have imminent plans of switching carriers, it might make sense to do as many offers as you are comfortable floating.

Here’s my AT&T balance:  🙂

I’m in prepaid plan and I wonder if refilling my account on AT&T gophone will qualify.

This was one of the best offers of the year in my books. I know I am gonna be with att for at least 2018 spring. Paid up until that. Sadly, I can’t add more au’s to my Amex cards. Trying to get sapphire reserve.

Are you able to make payments online even though you have a negative balance? Or did you have to call in?

For AT&T you can definitely pay online even if you have a credit balance. It does give you a warning letting you know that you have a credit, but it lets you enter the amount you want to pay. It also lets you split payment with customer amount for each 🙂

Which one is the 33% off?

Paul

The AT&T offer that provides… 33% off.

Sorry.. should have been more specific.. can you provide the link to it?
Thank you

Paul..If you look at the above post there is just a general mention of it..normally he will post a link to the specific offer he is referring to…33% off.

He has it listed. It is the $50 off when you spend $150 = 33%

These are all Amex Offers. So the question of the “link to it” is confusing. These are targetted offers, so you have to find them on your offers on your Amex login.

Find a friend/relative and pay their AT&T phone bill. split the difference. You probably need to do this today, because the offer ends tomorrow.

Damn, that was a great offer. I got over $1K back in credits! This was the offer of the year if you received the offer. My phone bill is paid up almost an entire year. 😀

Ours were all on Amex Business Cards… Plat, SPG…

Makes up for the no-longer-applicable Small Business Saturday Amex doesn’t offer anymore…

Just adding a data-point, I paid my U-verse television/internet bill, and it triggered the bonus. No phone included on that plan.
