Slightly OT but what is the current state of visa/MC gebit loads at Walmart? I gave up on WM 6 months or so ago when they would kinda sorta work sometimes at the register but not at the service desk. Haven’t been back to check whether any new gebit flavors or amounts work yet.
I tried last week and they’re still not working.
Pretty much dead in my area
MS is now dead to me and many others ever since Metabank cards stopped working for MOs. Until churners find something now, the only good things left are reselling and Plastiq.
I’ve also been sitting things out since the December memo, but just had success using a couple of $200 Style Anywhere cards to load GoBank at a WMNM register (not at the MC/customer service) in Portland, OR.
Gives me hope that I’ll at least still be able to take care of non-AMEX MSR’s with Anywhere cards from OD and just unload them slowly…
According to many DPs- including mine, Rowan’s below, and many others on different posts, the “Everywhere” cards (Style, Grocery, etc) are still working completely fine at Wal-Mart, even up to the full $200 swipe. And these are better anyways because they are $2 cheaper! The only caveat is that Dining Everywhere usually only works at the Supercenters. But Grocery and Style generally work at all Walmarts, but always do a test run to be safe before going all in. Plus, even the regular Visas still work up to $99 per swipe. So, MS at walmart is far from dead.
At least the WMNM near me (in the Money Center area only) now lets you use a CC to buy gebits, according to an employee. They restrict MO purchases, but loosen restrictions on buying gift cards with a credit card.
I am outraged that basic economy fares even exist to begin with. It’s a pointless race to the bottom with LCCs.
“pointless” Ah, yes, it’s pointless to try to compete based on price. Everyone is rich enough to afford flying, right?
Your comment reeks of BS. No, I don’t like HOW basic economy is implemented, but you’re complaining not how it exists but that it exists at all. You’re complaining about people having the option to pay less to fly.
People buying “regular” economy tickets subsidize “basic” economy tickets. I would prefer if airlines just made regular economy a little cheaper instead. I may be biased. A medical condition requires me to pre-select my exact seat.
Just like business class subsidizes both of them. That’s how the industry works.
Right. I am biased 🙂
