The Offer
- MountainOne bank is offering a bonus of $200 when you open a new checking account and complete the following requirements:
- Open a VISTA Premier Checking & VISTA personal Money market accounts at Scituate location
- Receive two direct deposits of $500+ each within 60 days of account opening
- Make three online bill payments or six purchases with your new MountainOne debit card
- Notify Scituate office personell bonus requirements have been met
The Fine Print
- To receive $200 incentive offer, open VISTA Premier Checking and VISTA Personal Money Market accounts at Scituate location with funds not currently on deposit at MountainOne Bank.
- $50 minimum deposit required to open each account.
- Both accounts required.
- Maintain average daily combined balance of $2,500 in both accounts to avoid $10 monthly maintenance fee. Fees may reduce earnings. Within 60 days of account opening, you must have two direct deposits (each $500 or greater) into checking account (direct deposits include deposits made by your employer or a federal or state government agency or retirement benefits administrator and generally payments made by corporations or other organizations); and make three online bill payments OR make six purchases with your new MountainOne debit card.
- To redeem offer, notify Scituate office personnel that incentive requirements have been met.
- Upon verification of eligibility requirements, incentive offer will be deposited into VISTA Premier Checking Account. A 1099-INT will be issued at year-end for tax purposes. Limited time offer; one offer per customer.
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them
Avoiding Fees
I wasn’t able to find the fee schedule, so I’m unsure if an early account termination fee is charged or not.
VISTA Premier Checking $10 Monthly
Maintain an average daily combined balance of $2,500 in VISTA Premier Checking and VISTA Personal Money Market to waive the $10 monthly fee.
Our Verdict
They previously had a $250 deal that was available online and in a lot more states, so it’s a bit sad to see this much more restricted offer. Still might be useful for anybody that lives in the area I guess. Not sure if the extra $50 money market bonus will post or not this time. Given we’ve see a bigger bonus that was available online as well, I won’t be adding this to the best bonus page.
