Our Verdict

We frequently see Sam’s Club offers from American Express, this is one of the worst deals we’ve seen recently (last time it was spend $30 and get $15 back). Much less exciting now we can only do each deal once as well. Don’t forget to go through a portal, current best rates are up to 5%. There doesn’t seem to be any sort of gift card restriction in the fine print of this offer, so those purchases should work (won’t work for portal cashback). Most $50 gift cards are priced under $50, so that’s kind of annoying.

I had this one on an AU card earlier in the summer, and I’m almost relieved I don’t have it on any cards this go around.

Between Sam’s arbitrarily canceling orders and the cumbersome gift card activation process it’s almost not worth it… almost.

Got it on BCE and Hilton. I rarely get targeted for Amex offers at places I actually shop, so I’ll take this one even if it’s not the best ever.

Correct. Coded into the system. It will disappear on the other 3 when you add it to the first. History of clawbacks recently even if you somehow got around it.

If the terms say one statement credit per card member, yes, you can only use it on one card.

The activation process for Sam’s Club GC and the rate at which they have issues will keep me from doing this. It MAY be worth it if I could do multiple cards, but not worth the hassle.

just get a Sam’s club $50 gift card… Sam’s club gift cards can also be used on Walmart so works great. Works out to be 20%off

Charge reflected on statement on Oct 01 as the order was stuck somewhere, did a chat and requested manual credit as somehow it was not tracking
