Our Verdict
This deal is worth doing if you live in a targeted area, sometimes it’s available nationwide but it’s always pulled quickly when that’s the case. They have offered bonuses of $250 and $300 in the past though, but those are rare and usually require direct deposit. I’ll be adding this to the best state restricted checking bonuses.

I signed up for the 30 posts within 105 days offer. Need to make 10 purchases/payment within first 45 days. Anyone knows how strict it is? I just found I missed 1 post during the first 45 days, even though I think I will have at least 30 posts within 105 days.
DP: Opened Wells Fargo Account Online 7/24 via my Phoenix Zip-Code. Did 10 $1 Amazon reloads per month the first 45 days of the offer, 30 days after, and finally within the last 30 days of the terms. $200 bonus was credited today 10/17 as “Promotion Bonus”
Data point: Account opened on 6/18. All 30 purchases accomplished on 9/9 and bonus posted today.
I put in a Dallas zip code and found the application has a promo code of 3PD200. Will try it in when i am in Dallas next month to see if this works.
I assume that by “A recipient of a consumer checking bonus in the past 12 months (limit 1 bonus per customer).” that I would be ok even if I received the business checking bonus in last 12mo?
I have the same question.
Live in Houston. Tried to use a zip from Dallas. Able to continue to application. Says I am eligible for the bonus. Will find out after 3 months 🙂
Damn, I feel like I have to do this one since I live in one of the 3 chosen cities…
I’m from Chicago, but if I drive to Dallas to open an account in Dallas, will thy let me?
So would this work if I’m out of state, but were to visit the targeted area? (Using my out of state addresss).
Sounds like it could work, might be worth a try if you’ll be in the area anyway.
You have to get an offer code emailed to you to open it in branch. That requires you to put in your zip code and if you use a zip code outside the targeted area it says you’re not eligible.
Are you sure about that? Multiple people including myself have inserted zip codes that are not in the cities and then sent a promo code
I tried my zip code and received the ineligible message. Does your zip code also work for the online application?
fuck how i can tell when the last time i received a bonus
