[YMMV] Amazon: Use One Chase Ultimate Rewards Points & Get $15 Off $60 (Working Second Time For Some)

Update 8/4/19: Deal is working for some people, even if they have done this deal before. Hat tip to MtM

Update 8/1/19: Looks like more people are targeted for this offer.

The Offer

Direct link to offer (affiliate links here and below)

  • Amazon is offering $15 off $60 when you use at least one Chase Ultimate Rewards point
    • Here’s how to go about doing this deal:
      1. Link your Chase Ultimate Rewards account to your Amazon account if you haven’t already (you often have to wait 24 hours after registering your card until you can activate the offer)
      2. Activate offer at this link
      3. Add $60 or more of eligible products shipped and sold by Amazon to your shopping cart
      4. Proceed to checkout & select your Chase Rewards Card as your payment method
      5. Select the amount of Ultimate Rewards Points you’d like to use for the purchase (must use points for at least $.01 of the purchase)
      6. Up to a $15 discount off $60 will be automatically applied at checkout

The Fine Print

  • Valid through 9/30/2019

Our Verdict

It won’t work on Amazon branded gift cards, but it should work on third party gift cards. Worth buying something now in case it gets used up (104,666 max redemptions). It should work even if you’ve done the deal previously.

F.A.Q’s

How can I make myself eligible for this deal?

If you don’t have a registered Ultimate Rewards card, add the card and register that for shop with points. In the past, the way it’s worked is that you have to wait 24 hours from registering the card until the activation link will show up. Some have reported that they needed to wait a few days until eligible.

Many readers are reporting having success getting targeted for this deal by removing all of their Ultimate Rewards cards from their Amazon account, then re-adding them and re-registering for Shop-with-Points.

Do you need prime for this deal?

No, it’s working even for some people who don’t have Prime.

Can the deal be used more than once?

Not sure, might need to buy $60 in one purchase.

Can I use a gift card to pay with Shop-with-Points purchase?

Yes, we describe a few methods to accomplish this in this dedicated post.

The Lyft gift card link is not working right.

Chuck

Interesting, seems Amazon stopped selling Lyft gc.

Clicking the direct link to the offer does not take me to the offer.

Link seems to take me to a generic amazon page, nothing about the deal…

Avi
Avi

Same here, for Step 2, “Activate offer at this link”

Chuck

It’s targeted so won’t show for everyone. From comments below, it seems many are having success by removing their UR cards and re-adding them.

Gotcha. Typically i get a message saying i am not eligible. This time it just shows nothing about the Chase offer at all.

I will try the method and report back, thanks!

Hi, I am unclear from what others are saying what they’re actually doing to get targeted. Are the only un-enrolling UR, then re-enroll? are they entirely removing their chase card then putting it back again? And also, how do they kno they succeeded, where will the offer show for them to indicate it worked? apologies, I asked this before in a separate thread, but can’t figure out what is the recommended way to try, also considering the activation link is generic, then how can I tell if my attempt to be targeted worked? If anyone can help, will be great.

Chuck

Remove Chase cards and add back. Then click the link again to see if you are targeted. Maybe wait 24 hours in between.

Thanks Chuck, I appreciate your reply. I’ll try it again this way.

I have a feeling I’m doing things wrong, when clicking the activation link of this post, I keep getting ‘not eligible for this offer’, even tho I removed my chase cards, re-added them, re-enrolled the UR points to amazon and waited 24 hrs before clicking the activation link. if you feel I missed something here – let me know, otherwise I’ll give this up, I’ve been trying it this way a number of times already. 🙁

What’s funny? Read Amazon’s description for the page that does come up. Mine said, “Chase Turkeys”. Great joke!

Every time I’ve tried to link my account over the past 2 weeks, it says registration is currently unavailable. What am I doing wrong?

This link worked for my CSR as well. Thanks!

RM

Chuck William Charles Folks, I think you need to update the link at the beginning of this post for linking your Chase Ultimate Rewards account to your Amazon account.

Chuck

Fixed that, thank you

My 3 Amazon accounts with Ultimate Rewards cards linked are targeted this offer! Thank DOC!

I added my CSR the last time this came around and it to this day doesn’t show up specifically as a CSR, just “Visa ending in xxxx”. The shop with points link says it is unavailable and I tried removing and re-adding the card and it is the same thing. Is it supposed to indicate that it’s a Chase UR earning card via the payments list somehow?

I think I had the same issue. My workaround was to go to the Pay with Points portal on Amazon and click through the Chase UR link to re-add my eligible Chase card through there. It worked and I was targeted again.

Use the link posted by RM in another comment. Worked for me.

The trick to remove the card and add it back worked again after working on my Amex card. Thanks as always DoC!

Finally, one of these worked for me! Thanks, Doc!

After removing and adding back my credit cards to my Amazon account I got this and the latest Amex offer to work. Thanks!

Sagar

Not working – takes me to a generic amazon page 🙁

[removed. Same link as ours just with a different affiliate code]

This link should work

Chuck

That’s the same link we have in the post. If you are targeted, you’ll see the offer. If not, you won’t. I’ll add a note to the post to clarify.

Amazing. Score on Whole Foods gift card.

If you’re targeted you will see the offer. If not u will just see a blank page

Thank you! I did the trick of removing my credit cards and then a day later re-adding them. That must have worked as I was able to do both the Amex MR pts deal and now the Chase UR pts deal this week.

Amy
Amy

Trick didn’t work for me. And as Avi noted below, instead of the blank page I was getting before, it now says, “Thank you for your interest in this offer. Unfortunately, you are not eligible for this invitation-only offer.”

Amy
Amy

I did have a banner for this offer show up a few days later–on 7/16 Prime Day, no less–while I was simply browsing Amazon’s site normally. (Perhaps there was simply a delay with the removal/readdition trick?) Last time I tried (in May, clicking a direct offer link from a DoC post), I was ineligible; last time I successfully did this offer was March 2018.

Amy
Amy

An odd/interesting occurrence: a few days ago I was again browsing Amazon’s site and once more saw the banner at the top of the page, despite having activated it per my July 25th post’s appearance mention; I tried to activate the offer yet again after using it for a purchase but had no luck.

JackRyan
JackRyan

These sorts of things almost never work for me, but this one did. No tricks, just clicked the direct link and activated it. Thanks DoC!

Avi
Avi

Now they’ve added the usual language for those not targeted instead of the blank page: “Thank you for your interest in this offer. Unfortunately, you are not eligible for this invitation-only offer.”

Chuck

I see that now as well.

Avi
Avi

I was able to add the offer 3 days after removing and adding my Ultimate Rewards account.
