This week started off with a bang, the Discover it Double cash promotion went live. This promotion lets you earn double cash back for your next twelve billing cycles, which means 2% on all purchases and 10% on the 5% rotating categories. Later in the week we were able to confirm that Discover Deals and referrals are also doubled.
American Express tinkered with some of their cards, the changes to the American Express Premier Rewards Gold card finally went live, which includes a $100 reimbursement for airline incidentals. They also increased the annual fee on the SPG cards by $30 but removed foreign transaction fees, added Boingo internet and premium in room internet, the business card also comes with Sheraton club access. They also increased the sign up bonus on their Delta cards, the gold card is 50,000 miles + $50 and the Platinum card is 60,000 miles, 10,000 MQM and $100 on both the personal and business versions of these cards.
Chase increased the sign up bonus on the Chase Freedom to $200 and another $25 for adding an authorized user. It’s also possible to get the checking & savings bonus again for $500. TD extended the $200 bonus on their cash and easy rewards cards, but they’ve added a huge limitation to the 5% earning rate.
There were some killer deals last week as well. You can get a $10 eBay gift card just for requesting a quote with Liberty Mutual and a $20 Staples gift card when you purchase $300 or more in American Express gift cards at Staples.
