Best Posts This Week: Discover Double Cash Rewards, Chase Freedom $225, SimplyCash $500, 3.5% Cash Back + Much More

It was a bit of a slow week due to Memorial Day (speaking of which, if you’re active duty there a bunch of benefits you get from different card issuers like no annual fee on any American Express credit card). The two biggest deals actually start tomorrow, Chase Freedom is back up to $225/22,500 Chase UR points and you can refer friends for another $50/5,000 points.

The other deal starting tomorrow has the potential to be one of the best deals ever, Discover plans to offer Double Cash rewards on their Discover it card. It’s unclear if 5% categories will be included but it should still be 2% everywhere and double shop discover. The real value of the deal lies in the double shop discover aspect, as shop discover is already extremely competitive.

We also told you which credit card issuers do only a soft pull if you’re denied for a credit card and re-evaluated Citi and their cash advance policy (it seems they are no longer blanketing anything that is remotely close to a cash equivalent as a cash advance). American Express are offering targeted bonuses of $300/$500 on their SimplyCash card to Costco cardholders and you can get up to 3.5% cash back on the American Express Plum card.

Despite it being a bit of a slow week, there were a lot of good deals. A lot of which have now expired (make sure you’re following us on Twitter to get notified of these as we post and other deals that don’t make it to the blog). The best of the deals that are still active is the 750 free United miles from MyPoints, the $10 sign up bonuses from Topcashback & Ebates and the $20 amazon gift card for sending $50 with Western Union.

The only other things of note is the new manufactured spending method of Plastiq and the fact that some people were targeted for a 25,000 mile checking promotion with Alaska & Bank of America.
