[Updates] Chase United Explorer 60,000 Miles Signup Bonus With $3,000 Spend

Update 8/4/20: Two updates:

  • Referral links are now showing the 60,000 offer, so you’ll want to use one of those and help a friend.
  • Readers are reporting that Chase is not matching this offer for those who signed up under the previous 40,000 points offer. Typically Chase does match for 90 days; not clear if they’ve made a permanent change to their matching policy or of it’s something specific here.

The Offer

Direct link to offer | (see end of post for another option)

  • Chase United Explorer is offering a bonus of 60,000 miles after $3,000 in spend within three months. The annual fee of $95 is also waived for the first year.

Offer valid through 9/30/20. This offer is not (yet) showing on the Chase site, but showing on United site.

Card Details

  • Annual fee of $95 is waived first year
  •  Chase 5/24 rule applies to this card
  • 25% off in flight purchases when using your card (including WiFi and food/beverages)
  • $100 Global Entry/TSA PreCheck credit
  • Card earns at the following rates:
    • 2 miles per $1 spend with United Airlines, restaurant and hotel purchases
    • 1 mile per $1 spend on all other purchases
  • Last seat availability
  • Miles don’t expire
  • Free checked bag when you pay with card (for 2 people)
  • Priority boarding
  • 2 Club passes per year
  • No FX fees

Our Verdict

Standard offer is for 40,000 miles. We have seen an offer was for 65,000 miles but that required $10,000 in total spend and is probably a worse offer for most people. Most of us aren’t traveling a ton now, but you might want to start stashing away some miles for the future.

Most people won’t be eligible due to the 5/24 rule, but useful for those who are. We’ll be adding this to our list of the best credit card bonuses. There’s also an increased offer for the United Club Infinite of 100,000.

That in-flight link still shows 60,000 miles. Any confirmation it has worked recently? I don’t want to use a 5/24 slot and only get 40k

Saw an ad for 60k offer at ORD last week, but have not tested the link myself

Confirmed the in-flight link did work for 60,000 points. Applied a couple of days ago and confirmed through secure messages. I used the IE browser as suggested on comments below. Doc must have removed the link? I don’t see it anymore.

Can you please leave the link if you still have? I only 40K+10K miles (for $5K spend) from Reddit. None that gives me 60K miles. Thanks!

1) I had a referral link via which i had applied, and got the 60k bonus, despite applying on 10/6/20. Bonus confirmation also shows on account when i log to chase account….But same link when i clicked today, shows 40k offer.
2) Can i refer my chase united business card for 10k referral bonus and send link for united business card for someone to open for 75k offer going on currently? If yes, how?

Offer is still showing even though it was slated to end 9/30, has anyone had success with the app after 9/30?

Last 10 days left before it drops to 50k or even as low as 40k miles. Sept 30th end date.

While booking a flight you get a $250 statement credit after first purchase and 35,000 miles after spending $2k offer. No AF first year

Interesting, essentially $250 or 25K United miles, probably take the miles right?

Im thinking of taking the $250 since I don’t have travel planned soon. I’ve used united miles in the past and got 2c/mile value so they’re definitely decent, but cash sounds good right now.

This offer also only requires 2k in spend, rather than 3k.

Application wasn’t going through with the 2500 flight link on Chrome, Firefox, or Edge. Used IE and it went through. Was approved instantly!

Happy for you. Did you use the UAC34X code? Which link were you trying to use which I am glad finally worked for you in IE; did not for me. I was told by Chase lending services to apply with 60k bonus promo and then email Chase customer service after getting the approval. I doubted from the getgo but I followed. guess what, Chase customer service send me on wild goose chase and obviously won’t honor anything but 60k.

Anyone able to successfully combine the 2500 in flight link with a referral link?

If so, please provide details i.e. which browser was used, what was the link, when did you apply etc. See the issues I am facing in the last 24 hours below. I called 888-609-7805: m-f 8-8 sun 11-5 est chase lending service and learned that none of my attempts made it to a successful application. I was asked to transfer after talking with Internet guys from Chase. The phone transfer resulted in connection loss. I am at square one…

I’m guessing it can’t be combined?

I tried applying to these links: https://creditcards.chase.com/travel-credit-cards/united/united-explorer sign in fails with some system error after logging in… As guest doesn’t take beyond “Verifying your information” in Chrome and IE. https://applynow.chase.com/FlexAppWeb/renderApp.do?SPID=G5DX&CELL=61DS&PROMO=UAC34X doesn’t work either… Does anyone have a referral link that could work? Will I get 2500 points with UAC34X code if I apply using that link? I have not tried https://applynow.chase.com/FlexAppWeb/renderApp.do?SPID=G5DX&CELL=61DS&PROMO=DF01 link…

Else, what do you think: Would https://creditcards.chase.com/business-credit-cards/united/united-business-card?iCELL=61FY this be an equivalent alternative? Though it doesn’t seem to have a referral program nor the refund for global entry…

I got approved. I had a lot of trouble with the links above. So, I am pasting my referral link here.
[removed] . I am hoping that I am not violating any policy of DoC. If so, I apologize. Anyway, I hope you can use the link and avoid the hassle I went through to get the card…
BTW, expediting the card delivery supposedly requires some verification from United to complete; only then Chase can ship the card…
