Please everyone stop putting email requests in the comments unless/until we find it live again and have someone who can refer.
Update 1/14/20: If you already have a $900 promo code, you can still use it through 1/17/20. The link in the email may or may not work. If it does not, you can try going to chase.com/StartNow and input the promo code there (ht Thelement). Again, no new promo codes can be generated, so please do not ask for a promo code in the comments.
Update 1/13/20: Offer seems to have expired. The offer used to show an expiration date of 1/17/20; it’s possible if already have the coupon you’ll still be able to use it, though there are some reports of difficulties. (There is a report of success in a branch, so you can try that.) At the very least it appears to be no longer possible to generate new codes, according to reader DT. Huge, huge thanks to reader DT who sent out hundreds of these codes (maybe thousands?) to everyone in the comments who requested!! DT has my vote for 2019-2020 season DoC MVP award. 🙂
Update 11/13/19: This comment might be of interest for people that aren’t targeted. Probably some level of risk involved, but Chase isn’t like American Express so should be fine.

Our Verdict
Standard offer adds just $100 when you do both for a total $600 bonus while this offer adds $400 when you do both for a total $900 bonus. Obviously an incredibly good offer. We don’t have the details of the fine print, but presumably it’s the same as the $600 offer, so I pasted those details above.
You need a unique targeted promo code which would be found in your Chase credit card on the website or app. (I believe it’s found with the Just For You offers which is under the ‘Check your offers’ tab found at the bottom-left of the home page of the website, but I’m not entirely sure.) While it’s certainly targeted, many r/churning members are reporting finding this offer, so there’s a shot you’ll find it there as well.
Update: it seems anyone targeted can get a unique offer code sent to unlimited number of email addresses, so if you were targeted you should be able to spread the wealth to all of your friends by entering their email address into the offer and getting a unique offer code sent their way.

Can I add an external account owned by P2 to my Chase online banking and not causing account locked due to fraud alert? Thanks.
Now that this promotion itself is long over(by my count it is 6 months 13 days since the promotion ended on Jan 17, 2020) – is it safe to close these accounts now?
Please advise.
“If you close either account within 6 months of account opening, you will forfeit the bonus.”
So depends on when you opened the account I’d say
Thank you for your response Kona.
I’ve opened both Checking/Savings on Jan 17, 2020
Anyone think we’ll be lucky enough to see this $900 bonus again? Considering new account openings are almost certainly decreased during C-19.
This bonus has been running on-and-off for over 5 years.
I still haven’t received my bonus and when I called the rep said it was because the $15k deposit had to be from a check and not an electronic transfer between banks, anyone else having this problem?

05/21/2020 – 6 Month Period Date
I’m currently waiting for the “6 month period” to end so I can close the accounts. To be safe, I also haven’t withdrawn any money yet (it’s not worth the few bucks of lost interest to *potentially* lose the $900). The terms aren’t super-clear and there isn’t anything written about withdrawing early, though I would guess you’d be fine if you were to do so. I’m planning to wait until June to withdraw and close out the accounts just to be extra safe.
I am at 6 months and 3 days since I opened the account. I guess it is safe to close the accounts now. I hope they don’t mean 6 statement cycles. I haven’t kept the copy of the terms and conditions. Maybe I wait another month.
Update:
I successfully transferred the money out of both accounts earlier this month (I waited 6 months exactly from the date my money was initially deposited into both accounts to be extra safe). I was able to ACH transfer the full amounts on Chase’s website to the new account without any issue with limits/etc. I was worried I was going to hit some limit and have to use the receiving bank’s end to transfer it out.
After zeroing out both accounts and waiting a few days for the transfers to clear, I closed the accounts by contacting Chase using the Secure Messages. Chase only lets you send a message about one account at a time, so I sent two separate messages requesting closure (one for checking, one for savings). Although they say it will take a week to reply due to COVID-19, I got two replies during the same business day confirming my account closures are in process.
The accounts were totally gone from my account dashboard within the next couple days (still have the Chase Amazon credit card). No issues that I can tell. I even received a check (for a few cents) a couple weeks after closing the accounts due to some accrued interest I guess. I’m so glad to be rid of these accounts and back to some form of normalcy/simplicity. I probably won’t be churning any more bank accounts again, it’s been a long 6 months!
Hope this helps (for the few people who still track this).
thanks!!
What if I’m self-employed? How am I supposed to meet the ACH direct deposit requirements then?
