Our Verdict
ENT has offered a $500 bonus in the past, but that was in branch only and $200 of that was really a savings bonus. This $200 bonus is significantly less, but it’s also much easier to meet the requirements for. Given how easy the requirements are to meet, we will add this to our best bank bonus page.

CO DP:
01/30: Opened account with $500 funding from Capital One Venture X (coded as purchase). Moved most of the money to the checking account/
02/07: Received and activated debit card
02/08: $200 Bonus received
Moved most of the money out. Leaving account open for at least a few months. In the service area this was a very quick and easy bonus. On to the next.
wow, not only these SOBs locked my account within few days of opening it, they sent me 1099 form for $200!!! that’s a federal crime, isn’t it?
Looks like they still issued the $200 bonus to your account. Have you tried requesting them to close your account and send a refund check? If they refuse, you may try filing a complaint to NCUA.
Same here. Received 1099 form for $200, even though they locked the account in a few days of opening. Called them, but their system is down for now. Will call back later.
Called the bank. First the banker said just ignore the 1099-INT form, which is nonsense. Then they said they will take a look and call me back in a couple days.
Update: The bank called me back and they will mail a corrected form to me. He said they have not mailed the form to IRS yet. So anyone that is affected needs to call them the get the correct form. They will not do it automatically.
Highly doubt they mail the forms (probably electronically done) and it’s already gone out, but regardless, when you get the new form, the Corrected Box should be checked. I had one credit union a couple of years ago botch the 1099 amount, and had to let them know it needed to be fixed. It’s annoying, but fixable. You can use your monthly statement(s) as evidence if needed. Mark
Thanks. But my account has been locked just a few days after it was open, I could not even get into the account to download the statements.
Looks like a lot of readers had problems with ENT. Guess I got lucky with my account:

Anyway, this updated post reminded me that it’s now time to close my account and end my membership.
Until the next time I worship at the Denver airport to then hopefully churn them 😉
Had an account with them ~3 years ago and they told me I was ineligible for this promotion. Doesn’t say that in the fine print
Ent does not allow churning.
One of the eligibility requirements says “ have not received an Ent Checking Offer reward in the past”
But, if you didn’t get a Checking bonus previously from them, you should be good to go. Unless they are saying a past checking account is “pre-existing”. I wouldn’t think so. It pre-existed.
CO resident here. I closed an account with them before the covid fiasco so it was closed at least 4 years now. When trying to apply today in January 2024 getting an invalid code for ROCKON in the application (have to enter SSN first).
Looks like no easy $200 for me.
Ent? Colorado? Highly intriguing.
William Charles This offer is back. “Offer ends June 30, 2024.”
Based on the DPs I’ll sit this one out, not interested in being a masochist.
Yeah, it’s CO only now. They learned to look at the applicant’s address.
We are unable to open an account for you online at this time.
It seems you have to call to get the money back. Even if the account was restricted, they do not automatically close it.
Based on Gadget - Bank Bonus Geek recommendation, I filed complaints with the NCUA against ENT for confiscating the $200 promotional payments when they closed the checking accounts for P1 and P2. The next day, NCUA closed the complaints due to the following: “we have determined that your concerns do not appear to involve a federal law or regulation for which the NCUA is the primary regulator. Therefore, we are closing our file on this case and by copy of this letter, we are forwarding your correspondence to the agency primarily responsible for investigating the matter(s) outlined and/or supervising the institution referenced in your complaint. The contact information for the agency is listed below, and any further questions or concerns should be directed to that office: Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies.
If you received the $200 promotion and had it confiscated after meeting the qualifications, you’ll want to file a complaint at the following link since they regulate ENT Credit Union in the State of Colorado: https://financialservices.colorado.gov/consumer-resources. P1 and P2 filed complaints and provided all screenshots of the bonus terms as well as the account opening confirmation. The promotion terms did require that the account be in good standing and they were at the time of payment. I’ll follow up when I have an update.
In the meantime, ENT mailed checks with the remaining funds when the accounts were closed to the address on file for both P1 and P2.
Pretty weak to file an NCUA complaint when people lied about their membership requirements and subsequently had their bonuses pulled. FAFO
Aren’t you concerned that ENT and/or the CDRA will ask you about the eligibility question that you answered?
I agree with this concern as well; I could see filing a complaint if there is valid reason, but given a lot of us didn’t even qualify for membership in the first place, we wouldn’t be entitled to the $200 bonus in the first place. It’s very much similar to a “misappropriation of funds” scenario.
I have worshipped in Colorado before. This was allowed per membership terms before they changed it. Went to a Hindu temple.
Sadly I did not see the bonus in my account before they removed access
P1/P2 both accounts got locked. Do you have to call in to get checks mailed/ accounts closed?
Yes you’ll need to contact them and they’ll tell you they’re closing them due to not being a resident of Matt B Colorado or having an immediate family member that’s a current member of the credit union.
