Avoiding Fees
Their totally free checking account does not have any monthly fees or minimums to worry about. There is a $10 early account termination fee if you close your account within 180 days of account opening according to their fee schedule.
Our Verdict
Bank Hometown and BankESB will be merging effective November 21st, 2016. BankESB also has a $200 bonus currently, so you might want to pick up both of these before the merger date.
