Avoiding Fees

This account has no monthly fee to worry about. According to the fee schedule you will be charged $25 if closed within six months of account opening.

Referral Bonus

Update: Multiple phone reps are saying it’s not stackable. Try to stack at your own risk.

Apparently it’s possible to get this $100 bonus as well as a $50 bonus by going through a referral. Share and find referral information here.

Our Verdict

Small bonus and does require a direct deposit. At least there is no monthly fee to worry about. Not a terrible but, but not the absolute best either. That being said I’ll still be adding it to the bottom of our best bank bonus page.

I completed a similar offer last year from out of state with no problems ($100 for doing a direct deposit on an existing checking account). You can qualify for membership by joining several clubs they have listed on the application page. This is also a good account to have, because they periodically have special CD rates, eg recently 2.2% for 36 months.

DP: Just opened an account, you can fund with a credit card minimum of $1, but not sure of the limit or if you can use AMEX since I did just $10 with Chase Freedom, I’ll see later if it’s a CA though.

It seems there’s no need to call at all to open the account. I called and basically all I was told is that there is no promo code to enter when opening an account and they have people manually checking for DDs to apply the promo and I can also call after my DD hits to make sure the promo $$ is added.

Well this is a pain in the ass. My DD went through over a month ago:

“Thank you for your Online Banking message. In order to be eligible for the $100.00 a PROMO code was required on the application that direct deposits must be established for the account. If there are any questions contact Member Services and speak with a representative.”

If SM w/ this person doesnt get me anywhere i’ll try calling in again

Max CC/Debit funding is $100

So will putting a $1 DD work for this account?

Opening the account for me was a hard pull and they tried to upsell me on credit cards on the phone after approving the account.

DP for receiving bonus without calling first

Zip: 11358

I did a DD via my employer for $30, $100 bonus posted next day

So your DD was only for $30 and not $250? That’s a good DP if so!

A small bonus of $75 is about to end by 10/31.
They may also allow referer and referee to both get $50.
Also seems to be nationwide, but no cc funding options.

Got this entail response regarding hard pull:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Thank you for contacting USAlliance Financial.

Yes we do a hard pull and use experian for that.

We appreciate your business and look forward to continuing to meet your financial needs. If you require further assistance, please email us again or call our Member Services department at (800) 431-2754 Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 8:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 am to 2:00 pm EST
