Priority Pass Café Flora SeaTac Not Available, Again

Update 2/27/19: At least one reader was turned away today, being told Priority Pass is currently not being accepted. They said they have ongoing issues that they hope to have resolved within the next two weeks. If you experience differently let us know.

Update 2/22/19: Have confirmed it’s still available via Priority Pass, it has just been taken off the website/app to reduce demand.

Update: According to some readers you can still use your PP at Floret By Café Flora but they are struggling under the demand and have accessed Priority Pass to remove them from the website for now to help reduce demand.

Update 2/21/19: A little over a week after being added Floret By Café Flora has been removed from the Priority Pass program with Priority Pass saying ‘…unfortunately we’ve suspended our partnership with this operator. We’ll keep our members posted on any new additions or changes on the website and mobile app’. This seems to becoming more common, with restaurants being added only to be removed shortly afterwards.

Priority Pass has added a new restaurant option to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Floret By Café Flora is found airside next to gate A1 at the intersection of concourse A & B. The lounges opening times are :

  • Saturday – Thursday: 6AM – 9PM
  • Friday: 6AM – 10PM

Menus are as follows:

Priority Pass members will receive a $28 credit for themselves and $28 for each of their guests. You can view credit cards that offer complimentary priority pass access here.

Other recent additions/removals include:

Awesome, thanks for the heads up – have a flight out of SEA this weekend!

Options at Seatac have been pretty lame since the Alaska lounges were removed, so this is great news!

I found The Club at SEA better than Alaska lounge. Better food for sure. Only the location is a bit inconvenient, being forced to hike all the way to the end of A gates.

Right, the Club’s not a bad lounge, but it’s a SERIOUS hike (half a mile?) from the Alaska gates.

Thanks for sharing this info. With Centurion Lounge closed in March, there were very few options left in SEA.

Wait… the Centurion is closing?!

Just got a few weeks or so for some renovations I believe. Haven’t seen a specific date announced yet.

Floret is delicious. I eat here all the time; highly recommend their breakfast sandwich. It gets packed sometimes, though, so I can’t imagine how they’d handle their additional Priority Pass volume.

Great News. I will be flying there in a few weeks.

FYI, the hours that you listed appear to be different from the screenshot.

Sorry that it closed to pp even before you can fly over there.

It’s a vegetarian restaurant! I didn’t know that there were any vegetarian restaurants in airports. Food seems expensive for what it is (and maybe that’s the business idea — charge “meat prices” for vegetables) but I’d certainly try it on a Priority Pass card.

The food is really good and well made. It’s worth it to pay more for real ingredients and not cheap artificial crap.

The prices are comparable to Cafe Flora, which is their flagship restaurant.

Still waiting for them to add LGA at some capacity.

Can I pick up food To-Go if I’m running late?:P

Uday

Yes you can. I was able to do that last time in Mexico City without any issues,

Thanks. It’s a great option then!

It varies from location to location. The conditions from the PP page for Floret is listed below. Grab and go is not eligible:

“The US$28 is valid for the purchase of any meal and/or drinks excluding ‘To-Go Orders’ and ‘Grab and Go’. “

Disappointing, but definitely good to know. Thanks!!!

But you can just take away anything you don’t happen to have time to finish, or will they tackle you if you try to run for the exit with unchewed and swallowed food?

You can get to go even if you aren’t running late.

Not surprised Floret removed itself. I bet they couldn’t handle the PP volume. It’s too bad, my next flight is in a couple weeks and I didn’t get to take advantage of this. Priority Pass really needs to get a decent solution for SEA aside from the remote Club location.

Well, that was a quick removal.

I went there last week and it was decent, but nothing too special. Coffee was good though. They were slammed and most seemed to be PP holders so I’m not too surprised it was removed.

Unfortunately I have a flight tomorrow haha so I’ll be back at the Club. Oh well.

The upside of true lounges is that they are truly free, whereas at restaurants you have to pay cash for a tip as the PP doesn’t cover gratuity.

Cash tip is minor compared to the benefit gained. You are getting an 80% discount on the food.

My experience at SEA is that there are a lot of Priority Pass cardholders (how else to explain the crowds at the obscure and inconvenient “Club at SEA”?). Give these folks a fancy, organic-y Priority Pass restaurant and they’re going to go hog wild. Or, I guess, arugula wild. I guess Floret couldn’t handle it. I’m not sure what Priority Pass pays them, but I would think veggies have high profit margins. I would think the airport steakhouses (good beef can be expensive) would have a harder time making money with PP.

I had one restaurant (in Reagan) take my priority pass at the end and say “It was all taken care of”…no option for a CC, or tip. I hadn’t used the full credit, I wonder if they figured out how to help themselves to the remaining balance.

I imagine that they get fixed comp per PP guest probably $17.50 if ticket $1.25 or $28.00. I was at Timberline Steaks & Grilll in Denver Wed. AM had Breakfast for me and a guest with Coffees I think we barely broke $28 – But last week at Giants Clubhouse in SFO the PP barely covered an entree with taxes without a drink. I can’t imagine if they were losing money they would stay with PP. I imagine that it is only the Churners and business or frequent travelers are a 5-10% that cost PP Money but have enough breakage from the remainder that may use 1-3x a year that they make a nice profit. But enough do use it.that we have to wait to be seated at times (SFO 10 min @ 10:30 PM last week).

This sucks. I’ve eaten there twice this week. It is such a great option!

The figured out who the clientele would be and did not like what their future looked like. Cant say I blame them.

iahphx
iahphx

Hey, the clientele were elites who have fancy credit cards and “free money” to spend. I’d take those folks in a heartbeat! There’s nothing better than customers spending other people’s money. Kind of like business travellers.

Joe

No, the clientele is the extreme couponer and their 4 kids, maxing out the credit to the max, and not tipping the servers.

Paul

Lol, it seems like they were unprepared and maybe undertrained for the demand.
Let’s have multiple restaurant options at once.

or maybe staff noticed PP patrons didnt tip

As the Quinoa Turns. 🙂

Personally, I’d prefer something more mainstream (like some meat options) but this would be a great place to try for something different. I hope they stay.

Stopped by today and was told they plan to re-open to PP members soon (they wouldn’t get specific). They just weren’t ready for the influx of business and need to adjust their food orders. Apparently they almost ran out of food during that one week.
