[Targeted] AmEx Offer: Wayfair, Spend $100+ & Receive $20 Statement Credit or 2,000 Points

Update 5/4/21: Deal is back and valid until 6/15/2021.

The Offer

No direct link, targeted offer

  • Get a one time $20 statement credit when you use your enrolled card to spend a minimum of $100 in one or more eligible transactions online at wayfair.com by 6/15/2021
  • Others are seeing the same offer for 2,000 points instead of $20.

The Fine Print

  • Offer valid on US website only at wayfair.com, jossandmain.com, allmodern.com, birchlane.com or perigold.com and via Wayfair mobile app.
  • Not valid on purchases shipped outside of the US. Purchases may fall outside of the offer period in some cases due to a delay in merchants submitting transactions to us or if the purchase date differs from the date you made the transaction (for example, the purchase date for online orders may be the shipping date).

Our Verdict

Saw the same deal earlier in the year and we’ve also seen $25 back when you spend $125 and $15 back when you spend $75.

I got a slightly different one for Wayfair: spend $200 get $40 back (same 6/15/2021 expiration).

I got the same one. Does anyone know if you can buy a gift card and resell to make a bit of money?

Just some information about Wayfair. I used this same deal from earlier in the year to purchase some furniture. Worked fine. I used it in conjunction with the 10% coupon they mail out all the time. Just be aware those 10% coupons are intended for first time users, but they don’t seem to care if you create multiple accounts (not yet at least). I inquired about higher % coupons, but you won’t find it. You can try signing up for Wayfair professional, wherein they offer a 15% discount, but the items for which they give you 15% are few and far between. Most items have no discount. Those which do are mostly 5%, with some 10%’ers. Rarely 15% unless it is something they reaaaaaally want to get rid of. Just be aware that Wayfair is not the best with their descriptions (all jokes about the recent news aside). I bought a ClosetMaid closet organizer which was stated to be 15.84″ wide, exactly what I needed. It came as the 16.97″ model. I called ClosetMaid and they said they never had a 15.84″ model. Only 12, 16.97 and 25″. So I sent it right back. Thankfully Wayfair makes it super easy to do so. Not to say its all bad. I’ve bought a couple other things from them, no problems. Just make sure you add the Wayfair offer BEFORE you make the purchase. Also, if you plan to utilize this offer on one of your authorized user’s cards, you need to create an account for them and add the offer under their account. Sure the prime will see the purchase, but the prime’s added offer won’t trigger.

Amex clawed back after discovering I used it to purchase a child, apparently it’s excluded somewhere in the fine print.

Just as a DP: I used this the last go around. Used it on the very last day of expiry. Wayfair did preauth but charged the card only 2 weeks later when item actually shipped out. No worries – chatted and the good man on Amex Chat pushed it through manually. +!00 points to Amex CS.
