The Offer

No direct link, targeted offer

  • Get a one time $60 statement credit by using your enrolled card to spend a minimum of $200+ in one or more transactions online at wineaccess.com by 6/25/2018.

The Fine Print

  • See above, some states excluded

Our Verdict

This deal gets better when you stack offers. Here’s how to maximize the deal:

  • Use a referral link to get $50 off your first order of $150 or more. My link here.
  • Go through a shopping portal (best rate currently is 16% for orders up to $200 and then 13% thereafter)
  • Add $250 of wine to your cart (this is reduced to $200 after the referral credit)
  • Receive $60 back from American Express

You’ll get $250 worth of wine and pay a total of $108. Wine Access isn’t a wine club, so the added advantage is that you don’t have to cancel and can select the wines you want. I’m not a wine expert, so make sure that even after all of the above discounts you’re actually getting a good deal. I’d appreciate if you use my referral link, feel free to share your own links but let other readers know your thoughts on the site (e.g pricing) as well as the wines you’re buying and why. I will be removing comments that aren’t detailed enough, please consider using a readers link who does provide useful information (or my own).

Overall I think the wine is a little overpriced priced. I ordered wines that were mostly under 25 bucks each. Mixture of some Chardonnay, Melbec and some other red wines that my wife picked. I am not a wine guy but my wife says that these guys have a good selection of wines.

Thank you guys in advance.

Looks like prices start at $23 for Reds so definitely not for those looking to stock up on $10-15 bottles. I’m thinking about buying a mix of the $23-27 bottles, will need to investigate the whites but the site seems to be down for me.

I like helping out on DoC, here’s my referral: http://share.wineaccess.com/iwJ2z

this is wild! i’m buying the rose champagne, the red mourvedre from Bandol and the St. Emilion Bordeaux. I think everything is marked up by like 20% but wow what an opportunity to bling out. Also I can vouch for the Chateauneuf-du-pape. I’ve had it before maybe for $45-ish but it’s delish!
Here’s my link, enjoy!

I took a look at the wines. In general they have good quality wines. As someone mentioned before the markup is probably 20% greater than usual, but after stacking the discounts it still a pretty decent deal. I found the cheapest red to be the 2015 Mendel Malbec at $23 per btl. If you purchase 11 btls. it comes to $253 Including the 13% cb. It comes to $10.60 / btl. Used DOCs link. Here is mine:

An update to my previous comment. If you buy 12 btls. you get an additional 10% OFF. So if you buy 11 btls of the 2015 Mendel Malbec for $23 ea and 1 btl of the 2016 Domaine Raimbault for $25. The grand total comes to $200.20. After all discounts $9.51 ea.

Then I see the Amex offer says “spend a minimum of $200+ in one or MORE transactions” which means you can do two purchase of $150 ea less the $50 referral for a net $100 per purchase to trigger the offer. Doing it this way would give you $300 worth of wine for $114 if you consider the 13% cb.

If you are feeling generous, here is my link.
[thanks for extra information, just post your link once though please]

Browsed through the limited selection, in my opinion. Generally, I will only look at reds. As someone else mentioned, looks like a couple of the good options have already sold out. 2012 Mazzei Castello Fonterutoli Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG Looks promising. Thank you.

So I live in Oregon and I can say that the Ponzi Pinot Noir isn’t bad, but probably not worth the $35 this site is asking. I would personally say that the $23 (2015 Mendel Malbec Lujan de Cuyo Mendoza) would be a good choice. I’ll be grabbing a few of those. I used Doc’s Link.

They don’t ship to Texas, which is obviously a bummer, I’ll have to get my fix elsewhere.

Not sure if it differs once you enter your shipping address.. but FYI, Texas is listed as a state they ship to:

While most wines are overpriced, Malbec for $23 is not a bad deal especially considering all the other sales. I orders Brunello as well, though not as good as I would have liked. They also have issues with shipping different wines to different states – not everything can be shipped to every state, atleast my experience. Also had another issue – if you add wines and then log in its all great. But if you are logged in and then try to add wines – it shows 0 wines…no wines available. Not sure whats the deal there.

Here is my referral if anyone would like to use. Thanks!

New to shopping portals – how do you use a referral link but still make sure you’re also going to the website through the portal?

Sad, not targeted! I’d love to get this deal as a newly single guy 🙁

I wanted some variety and they didn’t ship the Malbec to Florida. I checked the reviews of all of them in Vivino and other wine sites and these had the best reviews and closest to actual prices (to an extent). So I ended up going with the following:

2012 Mazzei Castello Fonterutoli Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 1 x $39.00
2014 Ponzi Classico Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 1 x $35.00
2016 Tiefenbrunner Pinot Grigio Vigneti delle Dolomiti 5 x $18.00
2015 Vermillion Red Wine 1 x $35.00
2015 Mario Schiopetto Collio Friulano DOC 1 x $30.00
2016 LIOCO Chardonnay Sonoma County 1 x $22.00

I’m pretty happy with this combination. I used VM’s referral, my referral link is here: http://share.wineaccess.com/iwQqG . Curious what others think.

I am a wine guy and can comment. They tend to have a fairly interesting and higher-end selection (this is not a bargain bin wine site by any stretch) and great background. However, I do find it to be pricier and less flexible in terms of purchasing options than many other sites…
– No stashing your wine order indefinitely – must be shipped by 2-3 months from order
– Can combine wines from the ‘store’ but any sale wines (on sale for a day or two) must be bought individually i.e. in high quantity to get free shipping.
– Free shipping requires a sizable order amount
– Discounts they advertise sometimes don’t show up when clicked through email and require manual adjustments.
– Other online sites often offer same wines for less.

That said, it is distinct somewhat with selection and has great information on the wines they choose to sell.

Buying a few bottles champagne I wouldn’t usually spend retail for – they are a bit over priced ($30 on the Dom and about $10 on the others) from what can tell but the discounts more than make up for it.

The estimated tax is showing at about 10.5% however, much higher than it should be for my state, I’ll have to see what actually gets billed to the card.

Forgot to add – there is an additional 15% off sale today, not sure how long it is supposed to last.
