The Offer

No direct link, targeted offer

  • Get a one time $60 statement credit by using your enrolled card to spend a minimum of $200+ in one or more transactions online at wineaccess.com by 6/25/2018.

The Fine Print

  • See above, some states excluded

Our Verdict

This deal gets better when you stack offers. Here’s how to maximize the deal:

  • Use a referral link to get $50 off your first order of $150 or more. My link here.
  • Go through a shopping portal (best rate currently is 16% for orders up to $200 and then 13% thereafter)
  • Add $250 of wine to your cart (this is reduced to $200 after the referral credit)
  • Receive $60 back from American Express

You’ll get $250 worth of wine and pay a total of $108. Wine Access isn’t a wine club, so the added advantage is that you don’t have to cancel and can select the wines you want. I’m not a wine expert, so make sure that even after all of the above discounts you’re actually getting a good deal. I’d appreciate if you use my referral link, feel free to share your own links but let other readers know your thoughts on the site (e.g pricing) as well as the wines you’re buying and why. I will be removing comments that aren’t detailed enough, please consider using a readers link who does provide useful information (or my own).

Update: Wine Access have told me I MUST provide the name/email of the person I referred otherwise I won’t get credit because of their “flurry of activity”. Anyone know the right way to escalate this type of issue? Going to try and negotiate for what I’m due but definitely going to escalate if they continue this BS

Curious if you got anywhere, same thing – had 2 emails congratulating me on a referral, but no credits – was told I needed to provide the name/address or “No Soup for you” – interesting I also got an email asking what I felt about the service, tempted to put them on full blast, but I did get my order no problem.

Has anybody else had issues with having their referral credits show up in their accounts? Specifically I mean the $50 for referring new users after their first order, not the $50 off $150 for being referred. I received an email saying somebody used my link to sign up and that I got a $50 credit, however I could find no credits in my WineAccess account under promotions and credits. I reached out to their support team and received this interesting note:

“I was just informed by our Tech Team that the refer-a-friend program received a flurry of activity from people leveraging the program in a questionable manner, which actually also resulted in a technical error with the 3rd party service we used. They have been working with our third party partner to troubleshoot this. You’ll receive your appropriate credits once the technical error has been resolved. We sincerely appreciate your patience and support at this time.”

I wonder if the “flurry” of activity was due to the amex offer + bloggers writing about stacking the deals with referrals. Makes me wonder if they’ll be trying to claw back unused credits. Spend them if you still have them!

Yes, they requested “my friend’s name/email”. I am forwarded them the emails they sent me. Going to be pissed and kick up a fuss if they deny the credits.

How do you get a referral link? I can’t seem to find a way to generate one…hoping to refer my wife.

I jumped on this offer. I had to emails saying Id gotten referrals, but nothing showed in my account. I end up referring a family member. So I made two orders. Each for about $100 each. After the 2nd order when through I immediately go the email from AMEX. Bought 8 btls on the first order and 6 on the 2nd. Today there is a 15% off tax sale going on so I end up getting $355 worth of wine for $137.15 after all discounts and 6% cb. Average cost per btl of $9.80.

I received emails for two different referrals saying ” Congrats, you got $50 because your friend signed up. When I check my account, I don’t see the credits added. When I reached out to there help, I got the response of sorry, send us the name of your friend and we will see about manually adding the credit. I haven’t made a purchase yet. Does that have anything to do with the credit not showing up? Anyone else had this issue?

I’ve ordered from this site 3 times before at the recommendation of my friend. I mostly drink Cabernet. Among my previous orders, the best was a 2014 Napa Mt Veeder Cabernet ($29). One of the order was a 2014 Napa Stags Leap Cabernet ($27). When I had my first bottle, I was not impressed; a year later when I had my second bottle, it was really good. Overall, I think all the Cabernet I ordered from the site is well worth the price.

I have 2 Amex cards that have the offer. So I made 2 separate order. One order is for 2014 Nichols Cabernet Sauvignon Stags Leap ($29.99), and another one is for 2015 Pompier Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley ($39.99). Not sure if the $39.99 one is worth the price. But this is a great deal. Even without the cash back (I forgot to use cash back for my first order), these should be well worth the price. The only catch is, the ones I ordered are all under “Today’s Finds”. So there will only be a few more hours to order these. If these become unavailable, I would recommend to look at “Today’s Finds” for its current offer. I think these offer better value.

I went all in on Champagne, I compared prices to Total Wine and they were exactly the same, so not complaining! Only problem was they sold out of Laurent Perrier Rose by the time I got home to order – my MB Amex Plat – Thanks DoC for the heads up! did not have the offer.

Couple of points:-

Was not able to ship to TX – called and r\they can only ship “Todays FInds” to Texas, nothing in the regular store. I was able to ship to a Family member in LA, had to pay Sales Tax, but still a bargain with Cashback Portal and Amex and Referral Triple Dip

Also looks like referrals only allow so many links, then the offer expires – otherwise I would have used DoC’s referral – used one in the comments, so if you are still looking to Save $50:-

I’d describe myself as a moderate wine guy. I was very familiar with 3 of the wines they offered and the prices aren’t exactly bargain but they’re great with this promotion and fairly similar to what you’d pay including shipping at other sites.

I purchased mine through the Alaska shopping portal and the $50 RAF promo stacked with a separate $50 off $200 deal through the Alaska portal, so I got over $300 in sticker-price wine for just over $200 before applying the Amex offer.
