Our 20 Most Popular Posts For 2015

2015 was an incredible year for this site, I set some goals at the start of the year and we actually met all of those goals within the first quarter. The site continues to grow at a rapid pace (most of which is due to Chuck’s efforts) and I’m looking forward to whatever 2016 brings. I thought it would be fun to have a look at our twenty most popular posts from 2015 (#5 will SHOCK you, just joking we’ll never do that).

  1. View Your Pre-Approved & Pre-Qualified Credit Card Offers. This page has always been an absolute beast, from the day I first wrote this page it received a lot of links from places that usually don’t link to me. If I’m missing any links, please let me know!
  2. Shopping Cart Trick – Get Credit Cards Without The Hard Pull. This page has a little community built around it now of people trying to rebuild their credit, one of the ways they do this is with store credit cards that don’t do a credit check. It has an insane amount of comments on the post as well.
  3. Best Bank Account Bonuses. I put an insane amount of work into adding new bank account bonuses, so it’s nice to see that people are talking with their clicks and actually using these pages.
  4. Bank Accounts That Can Be Funded With A Credit Card. One of the easiest ways to generate some credit card spend, I’ve found this page invaluable myself when I’ve been overseas and without access to easy ways to generate a lot of spend quickly.
  5. List Of Methods Banks Count As Direct Deposits. Another bank bonus page, yay! I still remember when I originally went through 300-400 pages on Fatwallet to find data points. I was real tired of trying to work out what would/wouldn’t trigger the direct deposit requirement so I created this page.
  6. ShopKick Review – Is It Worth Signing Up For? Pretty much all the traffic for this post comes from Google, I hate to think how many kicks I could have earned if I included my referral link. Hopefully some of the early commentators have profited nicely from it instead!
  7. Which Credit Card Companies Do A Hard Pull For A Credit Limit Increase? These sort of resource pages are always popular, this one benefited from getting some links from some of the bigger bloggers in this space. Seems to be only getting more popular as more people educate themselves on how credit scoring actually works.
  8. Step-by-Step Guide to Citigold 50,000 Points Checking Bonus. One of the biggest deals of the year and something people struggled with at different stages. Chuck’s detailed guide made things much easier to complete for a lot of people.
  9. Chase Coupon Codes & Banking Sign Up Bonuses. Haven’t been keeping this page as up to date as I should, but I’ll add to do the to do list now that I see how popular it is!
  10. Synchrony To Replace Chase As BP Credit Card Partner. This was one of the worst communicated product conversions I’ve ever seen. Synchrony, Chase & BP released such little information that people actually thought this site was in charge of the conversion.
  11. Current New Bank Account Promotions. Surprised to see this so much lower than the best bank bonus page, but I guess people want the low hanging fruit.
  12. Increase The Limit On Your American Express Card By Up To 3 Times It’s Starting Amount. One of the first posts I ever wrote that got any sort of traction.
  13. Master List Of Credit Card Sign Up Bonuses. I’m in the middle of completely revamping this page to make it more user friendly, it’s also in serious need of an update.
  14. List Of Churnable Credit Cards. Quite controversial when I posted this, but I think it has a nice balance of information without oversharing too much.
  15. CreditSesame.com Review Scam Or Legit Site For Free Credit Scores? Another review page, I guess I should do more of these?
  16. Citi Checking Up To 40,000 ThankYou Points Promotion, No Direct Deposit Required. Another big deal, we were the first to post this one so received a lot of coverage from other sites.
  17. American Express Business Gold 75,000 Points After $5,000 In Spend Offer. This one doesn’t seem to want to die, every now and then American Express starts targeting new people so we repost, it’s been on the front page multiple times now so I’m not surprised to see it in the top 20.
  18. Citi Sending Out Targeted $200 Sign Up Offers On Their New Double Cash Product. There was some hope that people would be able to get matched to this offer, which would have made it an incredible deal, unfortunately that barely happened to anybody.
  19. Chase $500 Bonus ($300 Checking + $200 Savings Coupons). This deal is always available via eBay and it’s one of the better bank account bonuses (probably only behind the Citi bonuses)
  20. Check To See If You’re Pre-Approved/Qualified For Any Barclaycard Offers. Barclaycard removed their online checker for most of 2015, so there was a lot of people looking for information on how to find out if you were pre-qualified.

It was interesting having a look at what were the most popular posts for 2015, I’d like to see what the results looked like without any search traffic. I imagine that a lot of the top 20 would be pushed out and replaced with more deal type posts. What were your favorite posts of 2015? What would you like to see more of in 2016? Let me know in the comments.

Love #5.

Re: #17, I recently received the 75k for $5k BRG offer in the mail. All I’ve been doing is logging into my AmEx account, then clicking over to small business cards and seeing if I have a targeted offer once a week. I’m a cash-back kind of person though so it went into recycling.

Thanks for the site!!!
