[Expired] [Targeted] AmEx Offer: Staples.com, Extra 1x On Purchases (Stack With 10% Back Offer?)

Deal has expired, view more AmEx offers by clicking here.

The Offer

No direct link, targeted offer

  • Get an additional 1 Membership Rewards point(s) per dollar spent on purchases made using your eligible, enrolled card online at staples.com by 12/31/2018.

The Fine Print

  • Valid online only
  • Valid until December 31st, 2018
  • Excludes Quill, Smilemaker, Staples Business Advantage, Staples 4 Government, Staples Toner Services, Staples Technology Solutions, Staples Promotional Products, Staples Print Solutions, Copy and Printing Services, Staples Contract and Commercial, Staples App Center, Staples Industrial, Staples Book Rental, Staples Simplexity, Staples Share Fund, Coastwide Labs, Catalog and Staples Fundraising.
  • Not valid for gift cards in bulk purchases.

Our Verdict

Deal by itself is basically useless because there are so many other credit cards that earn at a higher rate on office supply store purchases. If you get it on a business card with the 10% back offer they should stack. Although there is at least one DP of them not stacking in similar circumstances with Lowe’s. Probably worth adding to your card just in case another Staples deal comes along and they do end up stacking.

Had a targeted 10% back at Staples with BBVA rewards. The system is shared with suntrust, boa, regions…

u should make a clear note that the two offers are not the same. one is for .com and the other can be used anywhere. very key when going for staples GC promos.

how does this stack with the Amex Blue Business Plus (2x on everything already). Would i get 3x per dollar or 4x per dollar?

3x (2x + 1x).

I have it on my Amex SimplyCash card, so it comes out to 15% off (5% cash back at office supplies stores). I am using it only to buy actual merchandise and not gift cards, since the Amex RAT team is looking out for that.

I managed to add the 10% back offer to my personal card. Any DPs it works for personal cards as well?

I have added it to all my personal cards and bought VGC’s from staples and lowe’s and already got the credits for all my cards.
Hope this helps.

I had the problem with them not stacking at Lowes, but I made a purchase from Staples online, and also got two offer redeemed emails, so hoping that’s a good sign.

The Spent app also has an in-store Staples deal. You get an additional 2% back when you have the in-app code scanned when checking out. If you’re new to Spent… you can use Will or Chuck’s referral codes!! John 3:16

Usually for those apps VGCs are excluded, could anyone confirm if by purchasing VGC and scan Spent app in store will get the 2%?

The Spent app pay in store feature more like purchase a gift card for exact value then pay – I would avoid it at all costs.

I wonder if it would stack with Amex BRG 2x/3x on office store along with 10% cashback offer. That would be stacking same thing 3 times.

BRG does not have an office store category, only Simplycash does
