Our Verdict
Sun Basket is similar to other meal prep delivery services such as Blue Apron, Plated, Hello Fresh etc. Sun basket has offered an Amex offer of spend $70 get 3,000 MR or $30 and also spend $60 and get $30 back. If you use a referral link you can get your first three meals free (actually seems to be a flat $35 discount?). New users should use this link to get $40 off first order and $20 off second order. Pricing is as follows:
If it’s not your first order you could do the classic menu with two servings per recipe and that would cost ~$72 and trigger the offer. You’d end up paying $37 or $6.17 per serving. You could also do the family menu for two recipes per week, that would come out $88. You’d pay ~$53 or $6.625 per serving. Feel free to share your own referral links in the comments, but please make sure you also comment something of value as well otherwise they will be removed. If you’re a new customer you will be better off using this link instead for $40 off first order and $20 off second order.

I have tried many subscription boxes and this is the best one yet — great recipes, all organic. Much better than Blue Apron which I know a lot of people use. I did the Amex deal + a subscription and it ended up costing me around $10 for each 2-person meal. I put it on “pause” after the third box because even though we love it, we don’t think it is worth it at the full price point.

My best tip would be that after you sign up, you don’t need to worry about getting just the right amount.
Instead, go to the menu and select the option that says “give sun basket” and you can select $70 and gift it to yourself. Do this on all your cards with this offer and you can lock in the optimal discount.
They’ll email you with a code you can put into your account and all your gift card balances will get loaded into your account!

I got amex offer on 2 of my cards and 3 of wife’s card.
This is what i did. used 40$ off of first order and 20$ off of second order and used 1 amex card.
then i sent my referral link and registered account for my wife. she got 40$ off for first order and i get 40$ credit. Then from my wife’s account i sent 70$ gift card to my account so that card amex offer is done. and then second card of my wife i run for 2 orders and then 3rd card i will do similar gift to myself.

I received my first order and I find the portions to be insanely small… not even the fish – those were the right portions. But the veggies – there were hardly any.
I find this service to be overpriced even at $20 off per order it’s super expensive (at $40 off the price was about right I guess).
I’ll be canceling after I get 3500 MR.

Looks like the PREZ18 offer code cited in this post may have expired (the code that gives $40 off the first order, $20 off the second). It seems the best offer available now is $35 off first, $15 off second.
I gave Sun Basket a call and they gave me the $40/$20 offer after all. If you can’t get the promo code linked in this post to work, you may want to try calling them, too – they were very helpful. Call 1-855-204-7597, press option 1 and then option 1 again.
