[Expired] [Targeted] AmEx Offer: GrubHub/Seamless, Earn An Additional Membership Rewards Point

Deal has expired, view more AmEx offers by clicking here.

The Offer

No direct link, targeted offer

  • GrubHub/Seamless are offering an additional membership rewards point for every dollar you spend on GrubHub/Seamless

The Fine Print

  • Valid until December 31st, 2018

Our Verdict

Make sure to add this to your American Express gold card if you have one as that card comes with a $10 monthly credit for GrubHub/Seamless. I assume that they code as a U.S. restaurant as well (confirmed it does), if that’s the case you’d be earning 5x Membership Rewards points on those purchases as well.

Got a better offer on my BCE:

Get a $5 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to make a single purchase of $20 or more at Seamless.com or through the Seamless app by 11/20/2018. Limit of 2 total statement credits. See below for terms, eligibility and exclusions.

Also this for Lyft:

Get a one-time $15 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $75+ in one or more transactions with the Lyft mobile app by 11/27/2018. Download the app at lyft.com/app. See terms for exclusions.

And I got a promo in the Lyft app for 10% off next rides

That’s only better if you don’t have the Gold card AND you intend to spend $20 on a single purchase. With the Gold card, you get a $10 credit every month on a $10+ purchase at GrubHub/Seamless, earn 4x on that, and then the 1x is on top of that, and doesn’t require any minimum spend.

So maybe it’s better for you, but I wouldn’t say it’s better for everyone.

Since I had the Gold card ongoing $10 credit offer, I’m going to use it for restaurants where I can get a meal over $10 but hopefully well under $20. (I don’t normally order delivery or even order pickup online, so I only plan to use GrubHub/Seamless once a month to maximize that $10 monthly credit.)

I got both the $20/$5 and the extra MR point on the same card (BB+). My $20/$5 says usable 4x, instead of 2x.

The Drop app also has a promo for first time Grubhub customers (get $20 cashback) – possibly targeted, but I don’t think so.

Don’t forget to enroll in the gold card dining benefit before using it!

Less useful perhaps than Grubhub/Seamless
Dont’ frequent these all that often but seeing dining offers (with valid Locations) for:
Olive Garden till 12/31/18
Yard House till 12/31/18
Salty’s Waterfront Seafood Grill $10 credit off $50

It would be amazing if these Stack for 5X and toward the %20 back on $500 for new cards

Accidentally accepted the offer on my platinum… Is there anyway to reconnect the offer onto my gold card?

I had this offer before the GrubHub+PRG thing was announced and put it on my Plat to stop seeing it. Doh. Amex Offers restrictions strike again!

You mean except AmEx Platinum? Chase Ink Cash? Amazon? Target? 90+% of all store credit cards?

First, it’s temporary. It normally will earn 4x, it only earns 5x if you have this targeted offer which is only good through the end of the year.

Second, the Blue for Business card (now discontinued for applications) early last year came out with a 10x on restaurants offer for 6 months. So while that was 10x and this is 4x+1x=5x (for those targeted), that further invalidates your assertion that this is the first (in addition to all the cards that Lrdx listed which REGULARLY earn 5x on something).
