Best Posts Last Week: Chase 60k + 55k Offers, Delta 50k + $50 Offer, No Affiliate Links, $1,000 Donation + More

Chase was the major credit card player this week. They increased the sign up bonus on the Chase united card to 55,000 points and a $50 statement credit (although some other bloggers missed the memo on the $50 statement credit). They also increased the Chase Ink Plus to 60,000 points and it’s possible to get a 5,000 point referral bonus as well, you’ll have to pay the annual fee unless you go in branch in which case it’s waived. It’s also possible to get the Chase United Club card with no annual fee in the first year online (usually $395 annual fee).

I was looking forward to the new Best Western cards issued by FNBO. After doing some digging and writing my full review on their Premium Mastercard with 50,000 points and 20,000 point spending bonus, I was left disappointed. If the card didn’t require so much spending it might be worth considering, but $10,0000 to get the full 70,000 points and having to pay the annual fee? That’s a pass for me.

It was a bit of a slow week for Citi, but we found out more about the AT&T access more card. It looks like it’s a hard pull when you open a new wireless account with AT&T. There are 13 things that everybody should know about Citi credit cards and we tell you what they are. We also clarified who will earn what on the Citi Premier, looks like some lucky people get bonus 3x categories. If you had any questions on the Priority Pass select benefit from the Citi Prestige, this post should answer those fully.

Other credit card issuers had a bit of news as well: You can get 50,000 Delta miles and a $50 statement credit on both the business and personal versions of the Gold Delta cards. Discover released their 5% cash back categories on the Discover itAmazon.com, Home Improvement & Department Stores. Speaking of Amazon, we looked at the best credit cards for Amazon purchases (comments are particularly interesting).

It was a busy week for bank bonuses as well. We decided we would never use affiliate links for any bank bonuses when it become apparent Chase was offering them. This falls into line with our decision not to use affiliate links for credit cards. In case you didn’t know, you can churn Chase checking & saving bonuses. Bank of America has a $200 checking promo (not quite as good as their $300 promo) and F&M bank has a $250 in branch offer for those in TN.

It was a killer week for deals, I can’t list them all here so check them all out below. Some of the highlights: you can get 1,000 free AA miles for watching (or not watching) a video. It’s also possible to currently get a $20 discount when you purchase $300+ in gift cards from office depot (you should be able to purchase $600 at a time for $40 discount) – especially useful for those with a card that has a category bonus on office supply stores.

There is also a bit of site news. First of all we’re donating up to $1,000, all you need to do is retweet this tweet and we’ll donate $1 to the nepalese relief efforts (currently only at ~150 retweets). The site has been really sluggish the past two weeks or so, with some intermittent downtime. I’m making a number of changes to help fix this issue:

  • Upgrading the server
  • Optimizing the current theme and databases
  • Getting a new lightweight theme designed and developed
