There are some portals who offer cashback on select Amazon categories, such as clothing and furniture. See portal options here. Check our Complete Guide To Saving Money On Amazon (Save 8% – 27%+) for year-round tips and tricks to save money on Amazon shopping.

I wish EBay can compete with 15% or 20% code..

david190810
david190810

I notice that many sellers have already increased the listed prices on eBay to prepare for this.

Jake

If it is site wide, EBay should pay for the difference. I don’t think seller will lose anything, but I could be wrong.

Andrew
Andrew

eBay does cover the cost of their 15% discounts, but some sellers ramp up their prices so they can make more money. An item that’s normally $85 might get bumped in price to $100, so that it’s still “normal price” after buyers apply the coupon, and the seller gets $15 extra on the sale.

Jake

Got you, so far there is no movement on Ebay.

Jake

Ebay is such a letdown. No attractive promo at all.

I have amazon prime this year but can’t seem to get excited about this.

Gadget

I get it. Shopping isn’t something I get excited about. Especially if you are a “saver”, because even something that’s 90% off still takes away from savings if it’s not a need.

For me, shopping is a stressor. Will I (or they) like it – should I get it now – is this the best price – should I be using a shopping portal – is the item being sold from Amazon or a reseller – is this the “one” I want – is there a better price elsewhere – is there a better model coming out – what’s the return policy/warranty – will it get here in time – will my neighbor steal it off my porch – will the economy tank or will I lose my income – will I get abducted by aliens before I get to use it? And 1000 other random thoughts.

I have Prime for the time being. I have almost nothing on my shopping list, and probably won’t be getting anything other than some clothes. Not very exciting to this guy. I plan to monitor a couple select items, and will not consume me whether or not I miss the big deals,

P
P

Yeah. I just spent $700 last week with their 20% when using one MR point so not in a hurry to spend more.

Amazon prime is like paying extra to go to a buffet. You eat more of what you don’t need or like just because you have already paid more.

You lose if you eat more, you lose if you eat less.

Loser!

P
P

Uh-huh….

Calling people loser. Look in the mirror first.

Credit

That was tongue in cheek. Read the previous sentence. Then the last. It would make everyone loser. Everyone doing prime. Yeah, including me.

Is america on a collective guilt trip and lost its sense of humor? Everyone thinks everything is meant for them personally.

LOL I thought your comment was great. I also don’t realize how the majority of DOC community hasn’t caught onto the fact that Amazon has an open loophole they don’t care about closing which allows you to continuously sign up for the 30 day trial with the same name and credit card – all you have to change is the email and you can just add +1 or +2 or whatever and still get emails to the same email. Can’t believe people would pay for Prime….

William Charles

I think a lot of people just don’t want to risk getting banned

We’ve become the most sensitive group of people in the world and its annoying.

I am on a free trial so I’m eating for free. When I went to cancel my membership they offered me a second month for free. And, I really haven’t been eating any more than normal.

Prime certainly isn’t for everyone; if you’re able to group your purchases to get free shipping, or shop elsewhere for a better price, so be it. I know the frugal people laugh at Prime Membership but there are some benefits – I do like their streaming music however the menu system on Prime videos sucks a$$. To each their own. And, regardless, shopping is stressful in my opinion. However, it’s a necessary evil.

Off topic but… you know how to identify a bank account churner? Look at their amazon wallet. 20+ linked credit card payment options – sheesh. Lifetime spent on each card average $0.50 x 10. haha. except for those incredible bank punks and their highfalutin $5 each

Gadget

LoL. Yeah, I somewhat agree. I actually try not to do the .50 Amazon reloads. I usually manipulate my cable or cell bill with a series of small charges, are self checkout at a non busy store. Not because I’m innocent, but because I don’t want to add any funds to my Amazon account if I don’t have to. And, if I’m not doing the same thing as everyone else, maybe I’ll fly under the radar if they get cranky about it. I would encourage other people to do the same so the Amazon Avenue doesn’t die like all the other exploits.

This made me laugh. So true!!

I guess I’m one of those bank punks with the highfalutin $5 charges now – seven per month! I’m almost regretting the signup bonus, but it’s tough to give up on “free” money.

Next month back to the 30 AMEX EDP charges…

Same here. I just can’t get excited by the avalanche of beeping and blinking crap from China anymore.

more for me hahahaha

Yeah, god, I freaking HATE technology! I wish we could just go back to pencil and paper (pnp) as that is the far superior way to go about things. I mean, even now, I am dictating this to my son who is typing it for me. I would never allow a computer to have my own personal thoughts on it. Its all probably backlogged to china anyways.

And dont even get me started on Credit Cards and Bank Accounts. All online? NO THANKS. NEEDS TO BE PNP 4 ME. I miss the old days where people would use PNP to write checks or take carbon copies of my diners club card.

Don’t worry about it. You didn’t miss anything from the carbon copy era.

Please disregard if this is already listed (I didn’t see it)… the Amazon Fire TV (4k) is 50% off; sale price is $34.99. I’ve got a Fire Stick but it’s old and lags at times; at this price an upgrade to the Fire TV makes sense.

William Charles

Added, thanks.

I found that the Amex MR 20% discount still can be used. And also the codes (from Amex MR) for kindle and fire tablet are functional. By the way, if you place your order on your phone, on payment information, select “Use MR”->”choose a specific amount”->input 1 MR and select “continue”, you can see the gift card balance will automatically applied to your order (no need to use your Amex card to pay this order)

Denis
Denis

and 20% off applies to the original price, not the discounted one.

Jeff
Jeff

Somehow it’s not taking Gift Card automatically when I applied MR Points (1 MR). It’s asking me to use AMEX to pay the final amount.

LottN

Fire TV Stick is is $11.99 if you stack the Prime Day sale with the AMEX 20% off deal.

Jordan
Jordan

Pretty sure this wasn’t the case previously (but I could be wrong). I was saving my 2nd Amex offer for 20% using 1 member reward point. Today I went to pick up some Amazon security Cams and Echo show and the 20% discount is being take off BEFORE the $100 off (for show) and $60 off (for cams). It brings the Echo show down to $89.16 and I got each Amazon camera for $37.92.

Never had so much trouble with Amazon.com, keeps crashing on me trying to look around. Guess every American is doing the same.

I can’t even view anything on my iPhone. Every link drops me back on a blank blue “Shop All Deals” page

And the shopping app just shows picture-of-a-dog error pages for all links

Bought a 1070ti and it took $70 off twice plus $100 for the amex offer off the original price.

So is Amazon just completely broken for anyone else…? If i click the “shop all deals” on Amazon, it takes me to a page I assume is supposed to have deals, but doesn’t and then when you click “shop all deals” again, it just loops on itself…? The direct links above have the same effect.

On mobile app I get a “something went wrong” error.

About a year ago, I bought some Dash buttons for 99c and got $4.99 credits by pressing the button without selecting an item. Basically, pay 99c and get $4.99 credit. Does this still work?

They fixed this glitch unfortunately – it was good while it lasted though.
