Last week the new Citi rules finally came into effect, read our strategies for dealing with these new rules here. Bank of America also launched two new credit cards that we reviewed in full, the Asiana card with a 30,000 mile bonus is the more interesting one but they also launched a new Allegiant card. We also looked at maximizing the Chase Sapphire Reserve $300 travel credit for cash and shared a downgrade tip for Chase.
The rest of credit card news for the week was really a bunch of different targeted offer. You can see if you’re targeted for the American Express Business Rewards Gold 75,000 offer here. The Fidelity 2% card also sent out a bunch of targeted spending bonuses for $100-$150 that is worth checking for. Most Citi cards also have a targeted spending bonus as well.
It was a good week for bank account bonuses, Citi extended their $400 checking bonus and TD Bank extended their $150/$300 bonus for those in CT, DC, DE, FL, MD, ME, MA, NC, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, SC, VT, & VA. Fidelity have a $200 checking and $100 savings bonus that is worth it for those in Northeastern PA. Synovus has a $200 bonus in AL, FL, GA, SC & TN and finally American Eagle offered a $200 bonus for those in CT. All these are definitely worth checking out if you live in the target areas.
There were a lot of good deals last week as well, unfortunately some of them have now expired so follow us on Twitter if you don’t already. AmEx offers have a targeted deal for $20 off $100+ at Office Depot/Max, fantastic for those who got it. You can get 500 Virgin America miles by opting into a Newsletter, Staples are offering a $15 Visa rebate for purchasing $300+ in Visa gift cards and last but not least you can get $5 off $50+ in gift cards from Paypal Digital Gifts.
