Best Posts Last Week: Altitude News, New 5x, Great Semi Targeted Offers & $20 In Free Money

Last week was all about the new Altitude card from U.S. Bank. We shared how to qualify for this card, the merchant category codes that would earn 3x and confirmed new information not once but twice. Card will also earn 3x on MST purchases, huge for Samsung Pay users.

American Express also came out with some great semi targeted offers, all without the lifetime language. You might be able to get 75k points on the BGR, 60k points on the personal platinum or 100k points on the business platinum. American Express is also offering 30% transfer bonus to Virgin Atlantic as well.

Chase is considering new 5x categories on the Chase Freedom, United will start offering credit card apps in flight and last but not least for the credit card news Wells Fargo has new $200 bonuses on some of their credit cards. As always the best credit card bonuses can be viewed here.

It was another big week for bank account bonuses. Discover is back with the $100 nationwide savings bonus, Citi is back with a worse $300 nationwide checking bonus and there is a huge host of other state specific bonuses all outlined further below. For those looking for a high interesting savings account Dollar Direct offers 1.25% APY with no requirements and Georgia Banking Company offers 2.15% APY with 12 debit card transactions and eStatements. Both are available nationwide.

There are also a few free money deals, get $20-$28 from Swagbucks & Hulu and Dosh is a new card linked loyalty program that might be useful to some. Don’t forget that Staples is offering a $20 Staples gift card rebate with $300 in Mastercard purchases this week as well.
