Best Posts Last Week: 50,000 MR For Existing Users, Citi Prestige Changes & Best Bank Bonuses For July

Most of the credit card news came out of American Express last week. They sent out a great offer of 50,000 points for some existing business platinum cardholders, they also have a 40% transfer bonus to Avios and that’s after increasing the ratio back to 1:1 as standard (meaning you now get 1:1.4). We also shared a note regarding getting the sign up bonus again on American Express cards if you had previously changed a card to another brand.

The other big piece of news was the announcement of new benefits on the Citi Prestige card, this included some changes to the 4th night free benefit. Thankfully you’ll still be able to book via phone and get status and a statement credit as before. We looked at whether it makes sense to keep, downgrade or cancel the Prestige. There is a new 75,000 point sign up bonus on that card.Bank of American also launched a 30,000 point sign up bonus on the Amtrak card.

We updated our best bank bonus page for July and spent some time trying to work out who is eligible for the popular M&T $200 checking bonus. We added some more good checking & savings bonuses as well, HarborOne bonus of $500 is back for those in MA, NH, ME, CT, VT and RI and Citizens Bank has a $150/$250 bonus for those in CT, DE, MA, MI, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, VT. Discover also has a savings bonus of $100 available nationwide.

As always we covered a lot of new deals as well, Drop has a targeted offer worth $75 for signing up for WealthSimple that is worth doing if you are targeted. You can also get $40 in free food with Home Chef & Swagbucks. Audible has a two free month deal that is available to new & existing customers. There is also an AmEx offer for $25 back when you spend $75+ on Boxed.com. Full list of all the deals we covered can be found below.

As always a lot of the good deals have already expired, make sure to either follow us on Twitter or get daily e-mail updates so you don’t miss any deals. If we missed any deals or you have an idea for a post, please let us know ([email protected] or [email protected]).

Summary of Audible deal says existing customers are eligible, but my understanding is it’s new and previous customers who might be able eligible. At a minimum you’d need to cancel your existing subscription, so “existing” isn’t quite right.
