Last week was dominated by American Express with an increased offer of 35,000 points on the business SPG card, 70,000 miles + $100 statement credit on Delta Platinum (personal and business) & 60,000 miles + $50 on the Delta Gold (personal and business). They are also offering 10,000 points for enrolling in pay over time for existing charge cardholders. It wasn’t all good news from American Express with the announcement that the Mercedes-Benz card portfolio would be ending in January of 2019 (this still gives you a chance to get the card and sign up bonus before it disappears though).
Chase also increased the sign up bonus on the Chase Sapphire Preferred to 60,000 points, the annual fee of $95 is no longer waived though. Still it’s a better offer and much better if you value Chase UR at over 1¢ each. The sign up bonus on the U.S. Bank FlexPerks card is currently at 32,100 points due to the winter Olympics as well.
It was a slower week for bank account bonuses, but those in FL can get a $400 bonus from PNC at some FL branches. Chase’s $300 checking & $200 savings account has had an online working on and off for the last week as well, even if that doesn’t work it looks like you can now add a promo code after the fact. U.S. Bank has a $300 checking bonus in D.C. and parts of VA, MD, WV, PA. Finally Old National Bank has a $200 checking bonus in IL, IN, KY, MI, WI.
Starbucks & Coke both have promotions that are worth looking at. You should also check to see if you are targeted for a SPG select member exclusive. Tidal music is offering a free three month trial to their HiFi music subscription via Groupon. There is also a YMMV transfer bonus of 10-30% when converting American Express Membership Rewards to JetBlue Points.
