Best Posts Last Week: New American Express Restriction, Easy AT&T Money Maker & More

Sorry this is a day late, I was busy enjoying my vacation but had a bit of downtime so here’s last weeks week in review! As is tradition let’s start off with credit card news & deals. American Express has added some new restrictive language, unfortunately it’s exceptionally vague so it’s difficult to know how bad it really is but it’s definitely not good news. Chase has also changed the process for ‘paper apps’ and it’s unclear if these will continue to bypass 5/24 or not. In better news some people have been targeted for 10,000 points for enrolling in pay over time with American Express and others have been targeted for a 50,000 point business Platinum upgrade offer. American Express is also improving the purchase protection and extended warranty benefits.

It was a great week for bank bonuses. Chase is offering a $225 savings bonus, requires a deposit of $15,000. Normally when Chase runs this offer you only get $200. CIBC US is offering a $300 nationwide bonus, but only works for select employers and annoyingly no list of employers is provided. Discover has extended the popular $150/$200 savings bonus and we posted a reminder about the Incredible Bank $100 checking bonus as well. If you think your state doesn’t have many bank bonuses, I’d recommend reading this post.

Check your BofA, Regions, Suntrust  accounts because the AT&T money maker deal is back. So is the $30 off $60+ when using at least one MR point on Amazon and $10 for changing your one click settings to Citi. Wells Fargo is also offering up to 40% cash back at a number of different merchants. Office Depot has an instant discount of $10 when purchasing $100+ in some gift cards. I hope everybody had a great week!
