100+ Deals Expiring At End Of December

It’s almost the end of the month and the end of the year, there are a lot of deals that are expiring on December 31st so I thought I’d do a recap of the deals that are dying and also say a few words about each deal/offer (and if I think they will be extended or not).

Bank Account Bonuses

• Citibank $300 Checking Bonus with $15,000 Initial Deposit – No Direct Deposit Needed. Will likely be extended, but I am hoping they come back with a $400 offer.
• [WV, PA, OH, IN, KY Only] WesBanco $200 Checking Promotion. No idea if they will extend or not. I suspect not.
• [OR, WA only] Columbia Credit Union $100 Checking Bonus – No Direct Deposit. Hasn’t been extended in the past.
• [MD, DC & VA only] Sandy Spring Bank $100 Checking Bonus. Bit of a weird offer and I’m not sure if they usually extend it or not.
• [OH, PA only] Dollar Bank $150 Checking Bonus In Branch. Hasn’t been extended in the past.
• [OH, MI, IN, PA, KY, WV] Huntington Bank $500 Fast Track Business Checking Bonus, In Branch. See below.
• [OH, MI, IN, PA, KY, WV] Huntington Bank $300 Community Business Checking Bonus, In Branch. I think either this will be extended, or they will come out with another offer.
• [AZ only] MidFirst Bank $150 Checking Bonus – Direct Deposit Optional. Unsure if it’ll be extended or not.
• CIT Bank High Yield Savings Account Up To $200 Bonus + 0.95% APY – Nationwide. Requires a huge deposit so unlikely to be worth it for most people.
• [OK only] MidFirst Bank $125 Checking Bonus – Direct Deposit Optional. Unlikely to be extended.
• [AZ, IA, IL, WI, CO, NM] Bank & Trust $200 Money Market/Savings Bonus For Existing Customers. Unlikely to be extended.
• [NY & CA only] Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC-USA) $185 Business & $160 Personal Checking Bonus. No idea if they extend or not.
• [MO only] FCB South County Bank $125 Checking Bonus. Not sure if they extend or not.
• [MA only] Blue Hills Bank $250 Gift Card In Branch Business Checking Promotion. Unsure.
• [FL, MS, NC, SC, TN, TX, VA only] First Tennessee $150 Visa Gift Card Business Checking or Savings Promotion. Likely to either be extended or replace with another offer.
• Northpointe $50 Bonus + $50 To Charity + 5% APY Checking Account – No Bonus Requirements – DoC Exclusive. Suspect this will be extended, but don’t know for sure.
• [WA only] BECU $100 Referral Checking Bonus For Both Parties – No Direct Deposit Required. Will likely be extended.
• [KS, MO, NE, IA, WY, CO only] Pinnacle Bank $100 Checking Bonus, No Requirements For Bonus. Will more than likely be extended.
• [NM, NE, WY, CO] Bank Of Colorado $100 Checking Bonus +$100 Donation To Charity – No Requirements. Same as above.
• [WI & IL Only]Heritage Credit Union $100 Money Market Bonus. Requires a massive deposit.
• PNC $300 Checking Bonus [AL, DC, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, MD, MI, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SC, VA, WI and WV]. Will more than likely be extended.
• [AZ only] Arizona Central Credit Union $200 Checking Bonus. Will probably be extended.
• [MA, NH, RI, or VT] Capital One 360 $100 Checking Bonus. Was extended in the past.
• Ascend Federal Credit Union $100 Checking Bonus Hendersonville, TN Branch Only (No Direct Deposit Required). Limited footprint, doubt it will be extended.
• [CO only] Denver Community Credit Union $100 Referral Bonus For Both Parties – No Direct Deposit + 5.28% APY Account. Another one we don’t know enough about.
•  [MI, OH + Targeted] Monroe Bank & Trust (MBT) $150 Checking Bonus. Targeted offer.
• [PA, NJ, and DE] Royal Bank America Checking Bonus: $100 Amazon Gift Card – No Direct Deposit. Still don’t know if it’s a hard or soft pull.
• [AZ only] Desert Schools Federal Credit Union $100 Referral Bonus For Both Parties. Still don’t enough about this bonus.
• PNC $400 Checking Bonus [IL Only]. Has been extended in the past, but this is as good as this bonus gets so I’d grab it now.
• [FL, IN, KY, OH & TN] Republic Bank $100 Student Checking Bonus – No Direct Deposit Requirements. Hard pull kills the deal.
• [LA, MS, FL, AL, TX] Hancock Whitney Bank $150 Checking Bonus. Hope this isn’t extended as they have had bigger bonuses in the past.
• [CA, AZ & CO] $200 FirstBank Checking Bonus. Constantly extended.

• Merrill Edge Brokerage Bonus: Up To $1000 In Cash. If you’re on the fence for Merrill Edge, now is the time.

Credit Card Bonuses

• American Express Membership Rewards: 50% Transfer Bonus To Plenti (500:750) – Get 1.5¢ Per Point. Very much an underrated deal, great way to get rid of some Membership Rewards points at a decent rate.
• 50% Transfer Bonus: American Express Membership Rewards To Iberia (250:300). Problem is we still don’t know how this program will change when Avios merge.
• American Express Membership Rewards: 40% Transfer Bonus To Alitalia (1000:1400). The fact they devalue with little to no notice makes this a deal breaker for me.
• Haven’t Used Your Chase Ritz-Carlton $300 Travel Credit? Here’s What To Know. Needs to post to your account before the 31st, so it might already be too late but should be time.
• Haven’t Used Your American Express $200/$100 Travel Credit? Here’s What To Know. See above.

• [YMMV] 2,500 SPG Points For Adding An Authorized User For American Express Cardholders. Easy points if you’re targeted.
• [YMMV] 2,500 Delta Miles For Adding An Authorized User & Spending $500. Some easy Delta miles if you have this offer.
• [Targeted] Spend $2,000 Outside Bestbuy & Get $200 Reward Certificate With Citi Best Buy Card. Targeted offer but worth completing if you have it.
• [Targeted] American Express Blue Cash Everyday Offer – Preferred Categories Until End Of Year For Existing Cardholders. Very nice deal to maximize grocery stores.
• [YMMV] Discover Cardholders – Get 30% Back On Uber Rides. There has been a lot of Uber promotions recently, but might be worth using this one up as it expires soon.
• [Targeted]Visa Fidelity: Extra 1x Point Per $1 Spent (3% Cashback) After $X In Spend. Max this out if you haven’t already and find it useful.
• Chase Marriott Cardholders: Spend $50 At GAP Stores, Get $20 Back ($7 Moneymaker). Quick little money maker.
• American Express Offering 2x Membership Rewards Points At Select Merchants. 2x isn’t that exciting.
• Targeted Offer on Various Barclaycards for up to $20 Back. Meh offer.
• [Targeted] Banana Republic, Gap, Old Navy Etc. Credit Cards Earning 5x Points + 100 Points Per Day. Bit late to be really maximizing this deal.
• [Targeted] USAA Preferred Cash Rewards $200 Bonus. Deal is a bit confusing due to the two different dates listed.
• [Targeted] Spend $1,000 Or More On Bank of America Credit Card – Get $50 Off Any Alaska Airlines Flight. Not bad if you can reach the spend requirement and will have a paid flight with Alaska.
• Navy Federal Offering 2% Extra Cashback At Warehouse Clubs Until December 31st, 2016 (Up To 4x W/ No Cap). Last chance to use this.
• [Targeted] 4x Total Rewards Credits Per $1 Spent.

Amex Offer Deals

• #AmExStaples: Spend $100, Get $20 (Online Only) – $13.05 Moneymaker. If you have this offer saved, it’s a winner.

• #AmexNewegg $25 Off $200, Lock in Savings Anywhere with Gift Card Purchases. Lots of gift cards to buy at a discount, including Visa cards.
• #AmexBestBuy: Spend $250, Get $25 Back. Another nice way to lock in discounts on gift cards both online and in-store.

• Amex Offers: $25 Off $100 at BJ’s! Check out this follow up post on how to maximize.

• Amex Offers: Up to 6,000 MR Points for Purchases at Panera, Dunkin, Papa John’s, & Burger King. Buy a gift card at your favorite restaurant to lock in the deal.

• [Targeted] Amex Offers: Get 2,000 Points with Courtyard by Marriott. People have had success buying a gift card at the desk. Even better if you have this 3,000 MR offer for Marriott which will stack with the Courtyard offer.

• Amex Offer for Business Cards: $20 off $100 at Office Max/Depot. Small moneymaker buy purchasing $200 Visa/MC gift cards.

• Amex Offers: $15 off $100 at Macy’s and macys.com [Targeted]. Expires 12/30.

• New AmEx Offers: #AmexBonefish, #AmexSwarovski.
• New AmEx Offers: #AmExDell, #AmexJCPenney, #AmexBoxed, #AmexDrybar, #AmexPetco. Only some expire this December.
• [Targeted] AmEx Offer: Lyft, Get 2x Membership Rewards Points. 2x points is pretty average.

Other Deals

• Free $15 on Amazon for Discover Cardholders [Prime Only, First Time Only]. Excellent deal if you didn’t do this already and you have Prime.

• [YMMV] Free Kohl’s $10 Discover Deal, Expires 12/31/2016. If you don’t want to use the credit, exchange it for Amazon credit in the comments.
• Discover: $20 Off $200 at Best Buy [Targeted]
• Discover: Spend $100 Get $10 At Home Depot [Targeted]. Might be useful to some.
• Amazon: Get $5 Off $25+ With Amazon Assistant (Works On Giftcards). Don’t think Amazon typically extends these deals but there is a chance we could see a similar/same deal in the future.
• Two Free $65 Uber Rides at Select Airports for Amex Cardholders [expires 12/31]. Great deal if you have a use for it.
• 50% Off up to Five Uber Rides with Android Pay – BACK AGAIN. Remember to use this up if you have any Uber rides coming up.
• Free 1,500 La Quinta Points For Linking Any Visa Card + Ability To Redeem Points For Most Purchases. Some nice and easy free points.
• [YMMV] Paypal Mystery Rewards: Spend $100 & Get $5, $10, $15 or $100. Nice and easy $5 at the very least if you’re targeted.
• Samsung Pay Rewards Redemption Details Are Out + 2x Points Until December 31st, 2016. Good time to get the highest level of status for upcoming months, I suspect we will see more promotions for Samsung Pay.
• 100 Free Hilton HHonors Points. Not sure if this is usually extended or not.
• [YMMV] $20 Off $25+ At Home Depot When You Pay With Paypal In Store. Great deal that you should use if you’re targeted.
• [YMMV] $5 Statement Credit From American Express For First Time App User. Easy $5
• 30% Transfer Bonus To Cathay Pacific Asia Miles (Hotel Programs, Including SPG). SPG is really the only program worth transferring from.
• Kroger & Affiliates: $20+ Moneymaker & Free Beer [AK, ID, OR or WA]. Great deal if you live in the target area.
• [YMMV] Control Card: Load A Check & Get $10 Bonus. May or may not work.
• Two Free Premium Drinks At Delta Skyclub For American Express Delta Cardholders. Drinks are normally free, but this gives you access to premium drinks.
• United Shopping Portal Bonus – 1,000 Miles For $250 In Spend – Lots Of Restrictions. Deal has too many restrictions for most people.
• 2,000 IHG Points For Joining Dine & Earn And Spending $30+. These come and go, so no huge rush.
• Get £20 (~$25) Off Any Item + Enter To Win £100 From Luxury Travel Diary – DoC Readers Only. Last chance to use this up.
• $50 Statement Credit When You Spend $500+ At Hyatt Regency For Hyatt Cardholders – Bad Deal. Better to purchase gift cards at a discount, but Hyatt have had issues with gift cards recently.
• [YMMV] Free $10 Amazon Credit with $50 Gift Card Purchase. First time gift card purchasers only, same deal will be back next month.
• 1,000 Free Voila Hotel Rewards Points. Free points but I doubt most people will have a use for them.
• Rocketmiles (Hotel Booking Website) $50 Amazon Giftcard For New Users & Amazon.com Cardholders. Make sure you price compare as I find that Rocketmiles is usually more expensive.

Misc

• Donate To A Charity Using Paypal & They’ll Add An Extra 1%. Good time of year to sort out any charity donations you’d like to make.
• SPG & Total Rewards Partnership To End On December 31st, 2016. Just something to keep in mind, might make sense to rebook elsewhere now that you won’t earn credits for these stays.
• Free Returns for Purchases Paid with Paypal [2016]. If you need to make returns with Paypal, now is the time to do it.
