Best Posts Last Week: New $500 Credit Card, 50,000 Round Trip To Australia & More

Last week saw Capital One launch the Savor credit card with a $500 sign up bonus and 4% dining & entertainment category, if you previously signed up for the SavorOne card you get upgraded to the Savor card and you don’t have to ever pay the annual fee. Bank of America is offering an increased bonus of $350 on the Advantage Cash Rewards business card. Slickdeals is offering an extra $225 (in addition to the standard 60,000 points) on the American Express platinum card. You can also get 60,500 miles on the American Airline Barclays Aviator card until August 31st when you use a flight attendant referral code.

Unfortunately Chase is losing Korean Air SKYPASS as a transfer partner on August 25th. In better Chase news you can reserve a spot at the Chase lounge for the U.S. Open now and American Express will also have something similar this year in the Louis Armstrong stadium. Chase is also changing their travel portal to work solely through Expedia as well. It was a slow week for bank bonuses unfortunately but those in AL, AR, FL, GA, MD, MS, NC, SC, TN, WV, VA, and D.C  can still get $500 from SunTrust. We also added a few minor high yield savings accounts to our ‘best’ post as well, not included is a recent useless offering from Betterment.

Delta has some great flash sales currently, you can get round trip to Australia for 50,000 miles. Keep in mind the transit time of 26 hours, but still a fantastic deal if coach doesn’t bother you too much. There is also 22,000 miles roundtrip Europe, 12,000 miles roundtrip to Mexico/Carribean and 10,000 domestic round trip as well. Amazon is offering some people 10% off $200+ when they tell Amazon they are moving address. Starbucks has a new game and you can get 3 free entries per day. Google is offering One members hotel discounts and they are actually ‘real’ discounts rather than the usual ‘30%’ off that is really the standard pricing like you sometimes see on other sites.

In some miscellaneous news Marriott has revealed the travel package conversion chart now that SPG/Marriott are unified and those who gambled on these packages won’t be happy. Chick-fil-a launched an elite status program and Southwest could be flying to Hawaii by October/November.
